5. Colossus of Rhodes
◦ A huge statue of the Greek God of the Sun
◦ Built in Rhodes, a Greek Island in 280 B.C. in the port.
◦ It was 33 metres high — the height of the modern Statue of Liberty.
◦ It was destroyed during the earthquake in 226 B.C. and never rebuilt.

• Built on the island of Pharos in the harbour of Alexandria, in Egypt
• More than 110 metres high
7. Statue of Zeus at Olympia
• Giant seated figure, about 13 metres tall.
• Made by a Greek sculptor in 435 B.C.
• Built in the Temple of Zeus in Olympia in Greece.
8. Mausoleum at Halikarnassus.
◦ This was a large and highly decorated tomb built for the king in south west Turkey.
◦ It was build in about 350 B.C. in Bodrum.
