To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Richard Farrington. I have been employed in Emergency Management for over 25 years. I
served on several large disasters throughout the last 11 years while employed at the Federal Emergency
Management Agency. I was responsible for supervising the operations of staff throughout my tenure. I
understand the critical importance of having reliable, honest employees that can communicate as a team to
accomplish objectives identified by leadership.
I preface the above information because I want to recommend Dakota Bagley-sweet for a position within your
agency. I have worked with Dakota while he was serving with FEMACorps/Americorps for the severe
flooding that devastated Louisiana in March 2016. Dakota showed strong leadership skills throughout the
disaster. He assisted the citizens of Caldwell, Parish with Registrations, updates, and perform onsite inquiries
to the applicants file. Dakota utilized time management to complete his assigned tasks. As the disaster
recovery progressed forward he was able to prioritize and manage reasonable expectations of the team’s
goals.
Dakota was able to advocate for himself and ask for help when tasked with challenging issues. Seeking help
to complete large scale projects is a sign of strength and integrity, rather than an admission of failure. I
appreciate you taking the time to review his qualifications in regards to his efforts to join your agency.
Sincerely,
Richard Farrington
