1. Activity Feed
Use Activity Feed to create a central place for students to engage and stay up-to-date
on what’s happening in their course.
Navigate to Content tab of your Course Homepage.
Create a Message
1. To begin, click the plus sign icon to begin a post.
2. Click <Message>.
3. Type the message text.
4. Click <Allow Comments> to control comments on a post by post basis. Note: Learners
can comment on an instructor’s posts but cannot make original posts in Activity Feed.
5. Click the attach icon to add a link to an existing document, activity, weblink, or
video. This can place the “soon” or “now” activity upfront and central for student
notification and access.

5.1.Click <Upload> to attach a file from your device to a post.
5.2.Click <Existing Activity> to navigate to existing course material and bring it to
user’s attention in a prominent location.
5.3.Click <Weblink> to create a message and attach an external page or video to
share with users.

5.4.Click <Video from Web> to link to an external video that will display in feed.
6. When you are ready, click <Post> to display the message in Activity Feed.
7. Click <Post Later> to schedule a post to appear at a specific date and time.
8. Save by clicking <Schedule Post>.
9. Click the ellipsis for options to Edit Message, Pin Post, or Delete.

Create an Assignment
10.To begin, click the plus sign icon to begin a post.
11.Click <Assignment>.
Creating a New Assignment Submission Folder from within the Activity Feed
12.Add the title for the new assignment. Additional instructions are optional.
13.Add a due date to show as day and time in Calendar.
14.Check <Add to Grades> to instantly create the grade item in gradebook. The <Max
Points> field will appear for editing.
15.Note: You will still need to adjust the gradebook weights to accommodate this new
grade item.
Link an Existing Assignment to Activity Feed
16.Click <Select Existing> to navigate to Dropbox tool for existing assignment folder.
17.Adjust gradebook weights if adding to grades.

18.Click <Allow Comments> to control comments on a post by post basis.
19.Click the attach icon to add a link to an existing document, activity, weblink, or
video.
20.When you are ready, click <Post> to display the assignment in Activity Feed.
21.Click <Post Later> to schedule a post to appear at a specific date and time.
22.Save by clicking <Schedule Post>.
23.After posting, click the ellipsis for options to Edit Message, Pin Post, or Delete.
