7th
ASIAN-AUSTRALASIAN CONFERENCE ON PRECISION AGRICULTURE (7ACPA),
1st
ASIAN-AUSTRALASIAN CONFERENCE ON PRECISION PASTURE AND LIVESTOCK FARMING
(1ACPLF), AND DIGITAL-FARMER 2017 (DF2017)
WELCOME
Be part of the largest international Precision Agriculture event in 2017
The Precision Agriculture Association of New Zealand is bringing together the most influential people in Precision
Agriculture research and application from across Asia and Australasia for the largest international Precision
Agriculture event in 2017. We invite you to join this ground-breaking event by becoming a supporting partner. Key
opportunities are outlined in this brochure, or you can talk to us about developing a more tailored partnership.
In partnership with industry-leading organisations, Precision Agriculture 2017 offers three concurrent conferences
encompassing the latest science, development and applications for even smarter agriculture:
1. 7th Asian-Australasian Conference on Precision Agriculture (7ACPA) covering research on arable, horticultural
crops and soils.
2. 1st Asian-Australasian Conference on Precision Livestock Farming (1ACPLF) covering research on livestock and
pastures.
3. Digital Farmer 2017 conference (DF2017) covering practical experience, adoption and adaptation of Precision
Agriculture concepts and tools.
Precision Agriculture 2017 is bringing together researchers from different disciplines and cultures to interact with
developers, regulators and farmers.
For participants, this will be a rare opportunity to gain understanding of Precision Agriculture research in the Asian-
Australasian region, get involved in the discussion, find out more about the broad adoption of Precision Agriculture in
Australia, and learn from New Zealand’s highly advanced primary industry researchers and specialists.
For Event Partners, it’s a chance to support an internationally notable and thought leading event and further develop
links with the international Precision Agriculture community.
The three conferences will run in parallel, with joint plenary sessions, poster presentations and workshops.
Seminars on leading edge and applied precision agriculture, along with an exhibition featuring the latest innovative
technologies, will enable scientists and practitioners to exchange and generate new ideas. We expect more than 320
participants from the emerging economies in Asia, from Australia and New Zealand as well as from other regions.
After the event, delegates have the opportunity to join one of two New Zealand tours (2-3 days), visiting either the
North Island or the South Island, to discover first-hand examples of outstanding New Zealand Precision Agriculture
research and innovation.
International Precision Agriculture Master Classes will be held for two days ahead of the conferences. These Master
Classes will introduce early career scientists to the latest methods of Precision Agriculture research and allow them to
discuss key science questions with international experts.
Precision Agriculture 2017 is globally unique as it provides a platform for all primary industries in agriculture to share
and discuss their latest Precision Agriculture achievements. It also aligns with the congruent conference series in
Europe (ECPA, ECPLF), South America (CONBAP) and North America (ICPA).

MASTER CLASS $ 35,000.00 plus GST
(Two opportunities available)
SUPPORTING THE ADVANCEMENT OF EARLY CAREER SCIENTISTS FROM AROUND
THE WORLD:
Precision Agriculture Association New Zealand (PAANZ) will hold two ‘International Precision Agriculture Master Classes’
for two days (Saturday 14 October and Sunday 15 October) just prior to the biggest Precision Agriculture (2017) event
ever held in New Zealand.
The Master Classes will train early career scientists in the latest methods of Precision Agriculture research and give them
a chance to discuss key science questions with world class experts.
We are looking for one Master Class Partner for each of the two Master Classes. The Master Class Partner will support
a Precision Agriculture Master Class financially and with in kind support (e.g. hosting the participants for a joint
barbeque). A Master Class Partner will support the costs of the Precision Agriculture Master Class with a sponsorship
package of $35,000 plus GST per Master Class. We would like to take the opportunity to discuss with the Master Class
Partners, if they are interested, that other partners of the Precision Agriculture event will contribute to covering the
costs of the Precision Agriculture Master Classes by supporting individual participants with stipends.
The Precision Agriculture Master Classes will predominantly target postdoctoral scholars (Postdocs) and advanced PhD
students to learn advanced research methods from leading international experts. The participants will be selected on an
international, competitive application process and will include early career scientists from New Zealand, Australia, Asia
as well as from other regions. The number of participants will be limited to 14 per Precision Agriculture Master Class
to ensure high quality learning and fruitful interaction between senior scientists and early career scientists. The Master
Class Partners will have the right to fill two places per Master Class of their choice.
The participants of the Master Classes will receive a certificate. We are going to discuss with New Zealand universities if
the Master Classes could be accredited so that participating students could earn credits.
The Precision Agriculture Master Class is free of charge for each of the successful applicants including free
accommodation and a contribution to day to day expenses during the Master Class and the Precision Agriculture Event.
The fees to attend the conferences at the Precision Agriculture Event are covered through the Precision Agriculture
Master Class as well. We expect that the participants apply in their home country for financial support for their travel.
An expectation of the participants of the Master Classes is to participate at the Precision Agriculture Event and report on
their achievements in the Precision Agriculture Master Class during a plenary session.
The topics of the Master Classes will cover leading-edge science problems in Precision Agriculture research. Final topic
selection depends on the availability of respective senior scientists and will be made together with the Master Class
Partners. Indicative topics may include:
• Remote and Proximal Sensing of Crops and Animals
• Spatial, Temporal and Spectral Data Analysis of Soils, Crops and Products
• Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning for Analytics of Massive Data

  • 2. 2 PA17, HAMILTON, NEW ZEALAND PRECISION AGRICULTURE CONFERENCE Precision Agriculture Association New Zealand An Invitation to support The biggest precision agriculture event ever held in New Zealand for Asia-Australiasia 7th ASIAN-AUSTRALASIAN CONFERENCE ON PRECISION AGRICULTURE (7ACPA), 1st ASIAN-AUSTRALASIAN CONFERENCE ON PRECISION PASTURE AND LIVESTOCK FARMING (1ACPLF), AND DIGITAL-FARMER 2017 (DF2017) WELCOME  Be part of the largest international Precision Agriculture event in 2017 The Precision Agriculture Association of New Zealand is bringing together the most influential people in Precision Agriculture research and application from across Asia and Australasia for the largest international Precision Agriculture event in 2017. We invite you to join this ground-breaking event by becoming a supporting partner. Key opportunities are outlined in this brochure, or you can talk to us about developing a more tailored partnership. In partnership with industry-leading organisations, Precision Agriculture 2017 offers three concurrent conferences encompassing the latest science, development and applications for even smarter agriculture: 1. 7th Asian-Australasian Conference on Precision Agriculture (7ACPA) covering research on arable, horticultural crops and soils. 2. 1st Asian-Australasian Conference on Precision Livestock Farming (1ACPLF) covering research on livestock and pastures. 3. Digital Farmer 2017 conference (DF2017) covering practical experience, adoption and adaptation of Precision Agriculture concepts and tools. Precision Agriculture 2017 is bringing together researchers from different disciplines and cultures to interact with developers, regulators and farmers. For participants, this will be a rare opportunity to gain understanding of Precision Agriculture research in the Asian- Australasian region, get involved in the discussion, find out more about the broad adoption of Precision Agriculture in Australia, and learn from New Zealand’s highly advanced primary industry researchers and specialists. For Event Partners, it’s a chance to support an internationally notable and thought leading event and further develop links with the international Precision Agriculture community. The three conferences will run in parallel, with joint plenary sessions, poster presentations and workshops. Seminars on leading edge and applied precision agriculture, along with an exhibition featuring the latest innovative technologies, will enable scientists and practitioners to exchange and generate new ideas. We expect more than 320 participants from the emerging economies in Asia, from Australia and New Zealand as well as from other regions. After the event, delegates have the opportunity to join one of two New Zealand tours (2-3 days), visiting either the North Island or the South Island, to discover first-hand examples of outstanding New Zealand Precision Agriculture research and innovation. International Precision Agriculture Master Classes will be held for two days ahead of the conferences. These Master Classes will introduce early career scientists to the latest methods of Precision Agriculture research and allow them to discuss key science questions with international experts. Precision Agriculture 2017 is globally unique as it provides a platform for all primary industries in agriculture to share and discuss their latest Precision Agriculture achievements. It also aligns with the congruent conference series in Europe (ECPA, ECPLF), South America (CONBAP) and North America (ICPA). Join us! The Master Classes will train early career scientists in the latest methods of Precision Agriculture research and give them a chance to discuss key science questions with world class experts. We are looking for one Master Class Partner for each of the two Master Classes. The Master Class Partner will support a Precision Agriculture Master Class financially and with in kind support (e.g. hosting the participants for a joint barbeque). A Master Class Partner will support the costs of the Precision Agriculture Master Class with a sponsorship package of $35,000 plus GST per Master Class. We would like to take the opportunity to discuss with the Master Class Partners, if they are interested, that other partners of the Precision Agriculture event will contribute to covering the costs of the Precision Agriculture Master Classes by supporting individual participants with stipends. The Precision Agriculture Master Classes will predominantly target postdoctoral scholars (Postdocs) and advanced PhD students to learn advanced research methods from leading international experts. The participants will be selected on an international, competitive application process and will include early career scientists from New Zealand, Australia, Asia as well as from other regions. The number of participants will be limited to 14 per Precision Agriculture Master Class to ensure high quality learning and fruitful interaction between senior scientists and early career scientists. The Master Class Partners will have the right to fill two places per Master Class of their choice. The participants of the Master Classes will receive a certificate. We are going to discuss with New Zealand universities if the Master Classes could be accredited so that participating students could earn credits. The Precision Agriculture Master Class is free of charge for each of the successful applicants including free accommodation and a contribution to day to day expenses during the Master Class and the Precision Agriculture Event. The fees to attend the conferences at the Precision Agriculture Event are covered through the Precision Agriculture Master Class as well.
