This is a bi-monthly meeting hosted by Metrolinx and Crosslinx to provide construction and community relations updates to the members of Leaside and Laird Construction Liaison Committee (CLC).

Leaside Station: What to Expect
Year What to Expect
2019-2020
• Deep excavation, hauling, concrete and material deliveries will continue
on the surface through 2020
• Extended construction hours through mid-2020; 5:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
• Deep excavation of the station box will continue into early 2020
• Main and secondary entrance sites will continue to be the main access
points for the deep excavation underneath Eglinton Avenue
• Periodic additional lane closures may be required to facilitate dewatering,
deck repair and concrete works
• Permanent works have commenced at the main entrance and will continue
into late 2020, including waterproofing, formwork, rebar installation and
concrete works
• Durations of each stage may vary due to work sequencing, weather and
unexpected circumstance delays and private agreements

Dewatering Works
Howard Talbot Park
• November 11, 2019 for three (3) weeks
• Crews will conduct vertical drilling of wells and trenches to connect to the existing
dewatering system
• Restoration and reinstatement of landscaping will be done following the completion of the
work
• A fence will be installed around the work zone for public safety

Decking Repair
7:00 a.m. on Wednesday November 13 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday November 14th,
2019 there will be new lane and turn restrictions at the Eglinton Avenue East and
Bayview Avenue intersection to accommodate urgent decking repairs.
*Paid duty officers and flag
persons will be onsite to assist with
directing traffic and pedestrians for
the duration of the work

Emergency Exit 3 Update
• Following this work, the work zone will shift to
the middle of the roadway and traffic will be
routed north and south of the work zone.
• This stage will be in place through to late 2019.
• Early 2020, the construction zone will be
removed and a small emergency exit building
will be permanently in place on the boulevard.
Early October, the construction zone shifted to the north side
of EglintonAvenue.The new construction zone will allow for
the completion of utility relocations, backfill and road
restoration.This configuration will remain in place through to
late November, 2019.

• Long duration removals are now complete. Periodic removals may
for the remainder of 2019 as work transitions to permanent
works inside of the completed cavern
Permanent Works:
• Waterproofing, form and rebar and concrete works will occur
completed cavern
• During the concrete works, there will be continuous delivery of
to the surface sites
• The concrete will form parts of the permanent station structure
underground
2020
• Utility and road restoration
• Permanent works will continue
• Overnight works will continue through to summer 2020
