Identifying your resources
Consider the festival you are planning to stage and answer the following questions:
Where will your festival take place? (Will events be staged at your school/college or another venue?)
Our festival is going to be taking place at our school.
What equipment do you need? (This will depend on the type of events being staged, e.g. you may
need sound equipment if one if your events is a concert.)
For the festival, I will need sound equipment and lighting equipment for the performances that will
be staged. I also will need a camera and tripod for the photography workshop. Along with that, I will
need a projector and a whiteboard in order to display the films in the film room.
What materials do you need? (Are any artefacts being made specifically for the festival? What will be
needed for the production of promotional materials such as posters and leaflets?)
I will need the clay pots and buildings that we made in the artefact unit. I will also need to create a
poster to put up around school so that people can know what is going on and some leaflets to hand
out in and around school.
Who will be contributing to the festival events? (Will you need help and support from people such as
teachers and technicians? What will your own role be?)
The event will be carried out with the whole class and with the help of our schools music technician
for the sound and lighting equipment and will be supervised by our teachers.
My role within the festival will be to sort out the performances, to make sure that all the workshops
are going along fine and that the whole festival runs smoothly.
