The sharing economy in Russia grew 30% to ₽511B (~$7.6B) in 2018, with C2C commerce and freelance labor marketplaces comprising over 90% of the market. Car sharing was the largest segment at ₽370B, followed by carpooling at ₽98B. Building trust between users is key to further growth of the sharing economy. Emerging trends include additional services on sharing platforms, consolidation in industries, super apps, sharing cities, and expansion to business-to-business markets.
