19. Triangular Trade
There are many effects the triangular trade had
on the development of the colonial governments. One
of the greatest effects that the triangular trade had was
slavery. The idea of free labor had an impact on our
developing government’s laws and the life style of early
colonialists.
20. The Great Awakening
Religion played a very important role in the
development of the colonial governments. The Great
Awakening was a time were religious revival was
happening within the colonies. It was a great sweep of
revival in which many people were converted to
Christianity. Back then, people followed God first.
God’s law came before man’s law. A developing
government has to be mindful of this so they do not
anger their citizens. Today there is a noticeable
reversal of this.
21. The Enlightenment
Without the Enlightenment, the form of
government we have today would not have been
possible. This era of reason and logic greatly impacted
our government today, and the developing colonial
government.
22. The Enlightenment (cont.)
In all of the advances in the arts and sciences of
this era, the focus on balance and order was the
backbone of a Republic government. The founding
fathers used reason and logic to create a better form of
government, Republic. There is great balance in a
Republic; the House of Representatives, Congress, and
the Senate. Without reason and logic, a Republic
would never be able to exist.
