Role
I managed a great deal of projects during my time at Service Birmingham and, as Birmingham
City Council was my client, I experienced a vast range of project types and sizes and for
many different departments and Directorates, including internal Service Birmingham projects.
I was always either the sole or lead project manager and managed teams of different sizes.

2. Each new project was for a different department and a different type (Application,
Infrastructure, Desktop, Building moves, Business Transformation) so I’ve developed a skill
and real love for hitting the ground running with new project challenges and quickly getting to
grips with new departments, working practices and technology
Key Successes
• A blend of ICT and Business Transformation projects for the 2013 award winning
Library of Birmingham - £1.5 plus budget:
o Cabling and wireless – initiation, requirements and design phases
o Business Transformation for Customer Experience and Content Management
o Digital Signage solution for AV Screens and Media Walls
o Development of a Channel Framework for multi-channel content
o Implementation of the Facilities Management system
o Design and set-up of an interim Events Management team, including new
business processes.
• Birmingham City Council’s desktop refresh programme – around 20,000 devices
• The implementation and roll-out of a replacement Service Desk and Change
Management system – budget £750k
Taylor Woodrow PLC, Solihull Jan 03 – July 04

Responsibilities:
My 18 months at Taylor Woodrow saw me developing procedures for their system
development life cycle and change management. I also carried out Business Analysis,
managed software development staff and suppliers as well as Project Managing a software
development and data migration project.
Achievements:
• Design, development and implementation of a new central supply chain system,
which subsequently won a supply chain industry award
• Development of the PID and participation in the project management of a major
acquisition

Responsibilities:
During my 2 years at the company I was promoted several times after consecutive successful
projects. I started as a junior Project manager and left as Lead Analyst. The role was
challenging but developed my project skills and required me to have excellent
communications skills as I worked across the organization, which was embarking on a
business transformation programme. My key roles in this programme were in:
Project Planning and Control, Implementation Management, Test and Error
Management, Lead Analyst and Quality assurance
