 The Poverty Committee
is comprised of three
members of City Council
and three citizen
representatives.
 Two main issues;
Affordable Housing
Food Security

 Food security is a basic
need affecting Brandon
and surrounding
communities.
 It is not just about food
availability, but about
health and nutrition.

4. What is Food Security?
 “When all people at all times
have access to sufficient, safe,
nutritious food to maintain a
healthy and active life”.
- The World Food Summit of 1996

values and priorities for a healthy and self-reliant food
