Who is king of the social media kingdom [Infographic]

We study scheduling algorithms for loading data feeds into real time data warehouses, which are used in applications such as IP network monitoring, online financial trading, and credit card fraud detection. In these applications, the warehouse collects a large number of streaming data feeds that are generated by external sources and arrive asynchronously. We discuss update scheduling in streaming data warehouses, which combine the features of traditional data warehouses and data stream systems. In our setting, external sources push append-only data streams into the warehouse with a wide range of inter-arrival times. While traditional data warehouses are typically refreshed during downtimes, streaming warehouses are updated as new data arrive. In this paper we develop a theory of temporal consistency for stream warehouses that allows for multiple consistency levels. We model the streaming warehouse update problem as a scheduling problem, where jobs correspond to processes that load new data into tables, and whose objective is to minimize data staleness over time.

The increased potential of the ontologies to reduce the human interference has wide range of applications. This paper identifies requirements for an ontology development platform to innovate artificially intelligent web. To facilitate this process, RDF and OWL have been developed as standard formats for the sharing and integration of data and knowledge. The knowledge in the form of rich conceptual schemas called ontologies. Based on the framework, an architectural paradigm is put forward in view of ontology engineering and development of ontology applications and a development portal designed to support ontology engineering, content authoring and application development with a view to maximal scalability in size and complexity of semantic knowledge and flexible reuse of ontology models and ontology application processes in a distributed and collaborative engineering environment.

After independence, the focus of the Government of India was to frame the major policies based on equity along with growth in the agriculture sector. Being an agrarian country, many efforts been made towards economic and social stabilization over the past decades, but not much progress has been achieved in the growth of the agro industrial sector. Farmers lack access to adequate agricultural technology inputs, funding and commercial farming skills have put the quality under the threat. The productivity may be increasing, but better quality not been achieved. With the increase in agricultural production, there is a need to have the proportionate growth in the agro-processing industry. In the recent past most of the farmers are becoming real estate owners by giving their fertile land to edifice industry, because they are unable to meet the expenditure spent on cultivation, high rates of interests taken from landlords, commission agents, banks and financial institutions, few among them committed suicide, the rate of suicide cases was out of control. Government from time to time taking steps to eradicate the effects in agriculture but they confined only to paper. In Dharmapuri, Karimnagar District of Andhra Pradesh farmers came forward to start their own associations to meet their problems without government intervention. This paper focuses on the farmers those who became entrepreneurs to Agri-preneurs, studies about the profile of agricultural entrepreneurs i.e. agri-preneurs and their socio cultural background in Dharmapuri in Andhra Pradesh.

An important task for a digital communications receiver is to remove any frequency/phase offsets that might exist between the transmitter and receiver oscillators. The use of a Phase Locked Loop enables the receiver to adaptively track and remove frequency/phase offsets. The pll consists of loop filter, VCO and amplifier. The paper describes the designing of this loop filter using CMOS. The use of this element reduces cost drastically and has a good response. An experiment was conducted through this component which provided better result. The main advantage of designing low pass filter by CMOS is that it offers improvements in design simplicity and programmability when compared to op-amp based structures as well as reduced component count. It has high noise immunity and low static power consumption. Hence the overall efficiency increases as well producing the desired effect.

Blood transfusion is a complex activity in healthcare, constitutes an important part of various treatment protocols. Thus the indications for ordering blood must be fully justified to avoid over or misusage of this resource. In a 5 year retrospective study, details of patient’s diagnosis and indications for transfusion are correlated with whole blood and components transfused from the blood bank data base in SAQR Hospital, in Ras Al Khaimah UAE. It was found that 7,045 blood units which were transfused, maximum blood was supplied to surgical wards; most common indications for transfusion were injuries during road traffic accidents, orthopedic surgeries and cardiovascular surgeries. Nearly half (52%) of all blood was given to female recipients. UAE nationals received the maximum units of blood; most prevalent blood group among blood transfusion recipients was O +ve. Major usage of blood products transfused were packed RBC’s. The study concludes that regular assessment of blood component usage followed by academic sessions for clinicians is recommended for effective and efficient use of available blood to patients in a life-threatening situation.
