Thermal-tactile stimulation uses temperature and touch to treat dysphagia and there are several resources available for professionals. These resources include instrumental tools like laryngeal mirrors and thermal stimulators, bite guards, and manuals or DVDs that provide instruction on techniques. Laryngeal mirrors and thermal stimulators can be used to trigger swallowing through cold stimulation of the throat and both can be sterilized for repeated use. Bite guards protect teeth when used with thermal stimulators. Manuals and DVDs cover evaluation and treatment of dysphagia, including the thermal stimulus technique.
