The document describes the parts and assembly of a hydraulic punch press machine. It lists the main parts of the punch press like the punch, die, oil tank, motor housing, gear pump, pressure control valve, and hydraulic cylinder. It explains the functions of these parts, including that the gear pump circulates hydraulic oil to power the reciprocating motion of the ram. It then provides details on the assembly of the punch press structure and specifications for parts like the oil tank, motor housing, and hydraulic cylinder. The overall aim is to introduce the design and working of a hydraulic punch press.

Hydraulic Punch Press: An Overview of Key Components and Functions
1.
2. ABSTRACT
NOW A DAYS, in industry there is cut-throut
compitetition . so industry most have more powerful
fast & accurate equipment machinery to withstand
their more competition..
Punching press is a hydraulic pressure operated
machine in which reciprocating motion of ram is
obtained by hydraulic pressure of hydraulic oil.(68
nos.) . By this m/c . We can punch a plate of size
range 2mm to 25 mm (diameter) and plate thickness
2mm to 4mm. By using various combination of
punch & die......
3. AIM OF PROJECT
• To make up students mind that they should work
individually also to work as a team.
• To get the knowledge of each subject that has been
studied in various subjects of earlier semesters.
• To develop an attitude of inquire.
• To develop skill for getting solution of various
problems arising during manufacture.
• To develop skill of process plans and decision
making.
• To develop ability of report writing.
• To develop inter disciplinary exposure

8. Pressure gauge
Many techniques have been developed for the
measurement of pressure.
Instruments used to measure pressure are called
pressure gauges.
10. • A gear pumps which is used as a meshing gears, to
pump the fluid by displacement. They are one of the
most common types of pumps for hydraulic fluid
power applications. The Gear pumps are also widely
used in chemical installations to pump fluid with a
certain viscosity. There are two main variations;
external gear pumps which use two external spur
gears, and internal gear pumps which use an
external and an internal spur gear. Gear pumps are
positive displacement (or fixed displacement),
meaning they pump a constant amount of fluid for
each revolution. Some gear pumps are designed to
function as either a motor or a pump.
12. HYDRAULIC CYLINDER
A Hydraulic cylinder (also
called a linear hydraulic motor)
is a mechanical actuator that is
used to give a unidirectional
force through a unidirectional
stroke. It has many applications,
notably in construction
equipment (engineering
vehicles), manufacturing
machinery, and civil engineering
Operation
13. Types of Die
A simple die typically
perforates holes in a part or
blanks out the part using
punches in conjunction with
mated lower die components
(matrixes). Simple dies also
commonly produce basic
forms as well as perform
notching and lancing
operations. Simple dies require
a press operator to load and
unload parts and part material
before and after each press
cycle.
14. Perforating makes a hole by
removing a slug. When
perforating in a stamping
operation, a punch shears
and breaks a slug out of the
intended part material. The
punch pushes the slug into
a die hole (matrix). The
matrix hole is larger than
the punch point. A constant
punch-to-matrix clearance
is maintained around the
entire punch point.
15. Piercing makes a hole
without removing a slug.
A sharp or pointed punch
tears open a hole, leaving
a ragged edge that has
been formed down. A food
grater is a good example
of what pierced holes look
like in a finished product.
