3. To my Grandmother Min:
She taught me to be honest,
open and loving to everyone.
She showed me the value of literature,
knowledge and creativity.
May she forever know that I love her.
Color of Your Heart
If I drew your heart on a piece of paper,
What color would it be?
Would I wash it to be perfectly white?
Like the innocent swan,
flawless and pure.
Would I vigorously flush it in dark red?
Like the angry fires of war,
full of wrath and devastation.
Would I joyfully choose bright yellow?
Like the friendly sunflowers,
cheerfully dancing in the fields.
I wonder if I would faithfully paint your heart blue?
Like the depths of the healing water,
revealing the truth with its wisdom.
I might nurture hues of green to your heart?
Like the harmonious leaves of a tree,
healing and protecting the world.
Would I intensely shade your heart black?
Like the mysterious panther,
misunderstood and elegant.
What color would Your heart be
If I drew it on a piece of paper?

4. Dancing Dragonfly
Dragonfly dancing in the wind
Hovering and floating on the breeze
Buzzing around the pink water lilies
Zipping in and out of the blooms
Playing a deadly game of tag.
Deadly for the mosquitoes.
Butterfly Wing
Stained glass sections
Tender tissue paper
Floating on Gods breath.
Menagerie of spots
Translucent tissue paper
Glowing in the eye of Ra.
Bright Orange
Vivid White
Deep Black
The tiger of the sky.

5. Broken
The mask no one saw on me
Covered up the hollowness of my soul.
It made me look normal
Helped me feel common.
That mask cracked, it died.
I felt emotions never sensed before.
I saw the world that it concealed.
And drowned in the new light.
You did this to me
Made me see this life
You forced me to wake up
By throwing me aside
You don’t deserve me now
How can you comprehend?
You stole my existence
My essence lost its fire.
I am awake now!
Plunged into this world
This addiction is now mine.
These desires engulf me.
I’ll retreat back into that broken mask.
But I won’t give you satisfaction.
Time will be my friend.
I’ll plan my escape from the neglect.
Taboo of Seers
The visions in my head.
They're not supposed to be seen
That’s not my life?
Taboo to look upon.
I see others lives
I feel others feelings
I don't know my own
I get lost in the world
The colors swarm around me
Engulf me in feeling
They are hot, cold, sad, happy
They are painful to let in.
Never look at your own
You don't want to know
I know why seers don't look
They want the freedom to choose.
The stories my lines told
This hand is accurate,
Deep grooves tell the loss
The palm knows my lies.
I know now what will happen
I can change it
I don't want to
I See it, Want it, Feel it...
Crave it.
Lost it....

6. Child of Zodiac
Unknown child
What is your sign?
Tell me what you wish
When you will arrive.
Name of warm sunshine
Burning for adventure?
Ambitions out weighing the sun?
Wandering in pursuit of wisdom?
Name of precious pure rain
Rivers of healing waters?
Energy overflowing in you?
Bending to the will of man?
Name of the stable earth
Dependable and wise?
Observer of the world around you?
Rising from the underworld to conquer?
Name of mysterious air
Indecisive in your ventures?
Harmonious to the balance of life?
Concerned for the future of mankind?
Unknown child
What of your sign?
Tell me all I ask
And of your birth?

7. Loneliness
Out of the harmony of a simple sound,
Loneliness travels from the somber musician.
Greeting the talent with tears and dejection.
Below the depths of the darkest ocean,
Loneliness rises up from the perished vessel, adrift.
Burdened with ghost of the past.
In the corner of the wisest thought,
Loneliness spreads from the tainted black oil.
Unrestrained with doubt and rejection.
Beneath the caverns of the sober briny sea,
Loneliness swells up and stops time
Dripping from the continuous stalactites.
Behind the beauty of a fresh forest,
Loneliness creeps through the trees
Disguised in the blue mist of the dawn.
In the depths of the darkest stars,
Loneliness isolates its prey
Stalking it across the cosmos of time.
From the touch of a single smile,
Loneliness fades away.
Dream of You
Sitting in the diner I can see your smile
The rust red booth is curved
You sit next to me
Smiling big and bright
How I remember you.
One piece of pecan pie
One coffee in a white café mug,
Things you and I both love
Sit on the table in front of us
I can hear your laugh.
The waitress, tall dark hair, approaches
She fill the coffee, smiles
And asks “is there anything I can get you sweetie?”
Smiling back I shake my head
“I’m just spending some time with my mom.”
The tall dark haired waitress
Looks oddly at me
Eyes bright she nods slowly
“Ok sweetie”
She backs away.
The sun shines through the blinds
Creating a cascade of light
That shines on you
You smile that bright radiant smile
And the beams shine through you.
Laughing, I can hear you laughing
“You have to let me go”
As you fade into the light
My heart sinks,
I lost you before I knew you. 25
8. Fly Away
One day, soon, I will fly,
I know, yes, I know what you’ll say
You say, you ALL say
She is foolish
No…No you see,
I will fly one day.
I’m going to spread my wings
Lift myself from the chains that bind me
No lock and key will keep me.
All I have to do is spread my wings
Shake the earth below me
Stir the wind around me
Fly away from the pain
Away from the hate
Where to? You ask.
I’ll fly to where I cannot be pulled down
Receive the rising sun.
And fly alongside Aries Chariot.
Glide on the drafts of the sea,
Skimming the waves with the tips of my toes.
Join the infinite blue sky,
Converse with the moon.
And ride the back of a falling star,
Only to hang it in another galaxy.
Oh…I know you all say I’m senseless
But watch!
One day
I’m going to fly
I’m going to fly very far away.
