1. Predictive power in
human communication
I believe that predictive power in communication is a very important tool for
learning a second language. There have been some studies about the brain
activity during the language process but those studies have been done in
laboratories, isolating the communication process.

2. Research
According to the research article, our brain can predict “words and sounds
based on the context”. The NYU study was based on pictures and descriptions
showing that the listeners and speakers present similar brain process predicting
what the speaker is going to say. This study show that the predictive power is
an important factor in human communication. The source main idea is to focus
on the brain and its huge predictive power.

3. Methods
In order to do the survey, I sent it to people over the internet (mainly family and
friends). This survey was done between June 6th and June 11th of 2014. It was
delivered to people from different countries, though most of them were from
South America, both male and female between the age of 18-32, including
some exceptions.

7. Conclusion
My conclusion is that predictive power in communications is a very important
tool for learning a foreign language. According to my survey, and even though
some people consider these studies not objective, when one is able to predict
words or sentences, it means that this person has an advanced or fluent
comprehension of it.
