Challenging Norms,
Breaking Barriers!
EDITOR’S NOTE
omen have broken into business bastions, delivering
Wexceptional growth standards over the years. They
have challenged themselves to build a systematic eco-
system to play with, thereby pushing the boundaries of innovation
and expansion. Armed with business growth ideas, women have
led the business world for decades with immaculate execution,
smooth work handling, and the futuristic vision they possess.
The million-dollar question now is, Where to go from here?
Now that women leaders have achieved the peak of business
growth and entrepreneurship, what more can they do to challenge
themselves?
The answer to this lies in the idea of trailblazers who create their
path to success. Women leaders are not bound by the limitations
of the traditional business world. New-age business leaders are
not afraid to take risks and venture into unknown lands of
uncertainty. When leaders have a business idea in mind which has
the potential to break the norms, they set into motion a system of
thoughts that transform that idea into a reality.
All it requires is a strong belief system and the courage to build, to
transform a business into a path-breaking company.
We tend to remember the trailblazers who flipped the industry
upside down when we talk about eras. We are talking about
pathbreakers here. Leaders who dare to bring about a change.
Leaders who have a vision. Leaders who have the power to execute
that vision.
The leaders who have a futuristic vision are often the ones who
come out on top. Industry leaders are concerned about the target

they intend to achieve. Their targets have often set them apart from the normal. Trailblazers are never
afraid of an idea that has the potential to do something big, even if the risk of failing is relatively
considerable.
Women trailblazers are changing the business environment by constantly bringing new ideas and
strategies. An essential aspect of creating a successful trial is having a fixed plan for execution. The team
they're working with must be on board with the set goal. A capable team and a dedicated management
system can go a long way in bringing path-breaking innovation to life. Successful leaders often credit
their colleagues who have helped them achieve their feat. A strong and capable workforce can help
leaders achieve their goals in a much lesser amount of time.
Talking about the trailblazers who have left the remainder of leaders behind, Insights Success has
curated the top women leaders who have achieved their best this year. The edition, “The 10 Female
Trailblazers to Follow in 2022,” covers immaculate trailblazers who have scripted their way to the top. One
common trait about them is their unparalleled dedication and hard work, making their dream work.

The Honorable
A
n idea to leverage technology to help clients
develop a strategy for engaging with the
Federal government, shaping its research and
technological agenda and creating compelling
messaging for advocacy to advance client interests
positioned the Honorable Kelly H. Carnes as the
trailblazer to follow.
Kelly is known for her entrepreneurial drive and is a
nationally recognized technology policy expert. She is a
thought leader who has spent three decades serving
the high-tech industry in various fields.
Today, as the President and CEO of TechVision21, Kelly
has led the company to become an innovation strategy
powerhouse with a passion for advancing clients'
leading-edge innovations.
Unveil Kelly's passionate leadership that continues
helping companies partner with the Federal
government. This allows TechVision21 to focus on
business development and growing the company
Up Until Now
When Kelly earned her law degree, she started working
as an attorney at a national law firm to negotiate and
structure technology business deals. This included joint
ventures, strategic alliances, venture capital
transactions, licensing and marketing agreements, and
arrangements for systems integration projects.
Then Kelly was recruited to work in the White House as
an aide to First Lady Hilary Clinton in 1992. Kelly states
that the Clinton Administration was implementing a
groundbreaking national technology agenda, which she
wanted to support. She transferred to the U.S.
Department of Commerce, where she led some of the
Administration's key technology initiatives. For
example, Kelly served as a senior policy advisor to four
Secretaries of Commerce. The President nominated,
and the Senate confirmed Kelly to be the Assistant
Secretary of Commerce for Technology Policy. In that
role, Kelly was a liaison to, and advocate for, the
technology business community and led Presidential
and Cabinet-level technology initiatives.
During Kelly's tenure as Assistant Secretary, she
learned that most organizations—whether start-ups or
global giants—were not leveraging Federal Government
policies, programs, and funding as well they could be to
advance their business and competitive goals. Hence,
after leaving the government, Kelly founded
TechVision21 to help companies, universities and
science and technology non-profit organizations take
advantage of Federal government support for research
and technology development and deployment in an
economy driven by technology and innovation.
An Innovation Strategy Powerhouse
TechVision21 is a specialized consulting firm providing
a wide range of services to its clients. It monitors and
identifies opportunities for Federal funding that can
support projects to advance client technologies or
initiatives. Kelly asserts, “When those opportunities arise
in the form of Federal Requests for Proposals, we provide
intensive support in developing high-quality, competitive,

and compliant proposals. Also, our staff performs think-
tank quality research and draft talking points, fact sheets,
and reports in support of our clients. My philosophy is that
we can do well at TechVision21 while doing good by
supporting clients that contribute to U.S. economic growth,
prosperity, and competitiveness.”
TechVision21 has helped its clients secure more than
$100 million in grant funding to advance their cutting-
edge technologies in areas such as microelectronics,
nanotechnology. clean energy, and manufacturing. It
also helped clients support research centers and
regional technology-based economic development
initiatives. TechVision21 also provides analysis to help
several Federal departments better understand their
STEM workforce and the challenges they face in
meeting their needs for scientists and engineers. Based
on this analysis, the team helps them develop and
execute STEM workforce development strategies.
Clients at the Forefront
Kelly mentions that she is fortunate to have an
outstanding staff with decades of experience in Federal
technology policy, the U.S. innovation system, and the
dimensions of U.S. competitiveness. She shares, “We
also have a network of independent experts and
consultants we can bring into large projects or when the
specific knowledge needed is not resident in our permanent
staff. Our values are to provide our clients with our best and
most honest advice based on our experience and
customized services that meet their specialized needs.”
“Our staff and network of experts are professionals
dedicated to providing the highest quality work products
and meeting deadlines even if that means working late into
the night or weekends,” explains Kelly.
TechVision21's work involves a high level of
collaboration with clients and its staff. Kelly expresses
that collaboration is made easier as they all work
remotely and can connect virtually. One result of the
pandemic is that TechVision21 clients can now engage
with busy Federal policy makers and program managers
without coming to Washington. The TechVision21 team
has sponsored numerous conversations and briefings
with people who can help their clients during the
pandemic.
Waving the Technological Wand
According to Kelly, the past two decades have been a
tough time for U.S. manufacturing. Tens of thousands of
manufacturing establishments closed, resulting in
millions of people losing manufacturing jobs. Kelly
believes that there is a golden opportunity to
strengthen manufacturing by leveraging emerging
technologies to create new products and transform the
manufacturing process. She says, “A host of new
technologies—artificial intelligence, sensors, the Internet of
Things, autonomous systems and robots, biotechnology,
nanotechnology, AR/VR, and more—are revolutionizing the
way we make things. So, I would like to see widespread
deployment of these technologies to lower costs and make
manufacturing smarter and more flexible to make it easier

“
to introduce new products, and more energy-efficient. All of
this would make us more competitive in global technology
markets for manufactured products.”It is critical that the
United States returns to a “Made in America” philosophy.”
Kelly understands that nanotechnology has been
advancing but under the public's radar. Many consumer
products incorporate nanotechnology in many cases
—clothing, cosmetics, batteries, sports equipment, food
packaging, even toothpaste. It is also a foundational
technology in advanced microelectronics.
“Manufacturers are just getting warmed up, and we are
going to see many new nano-based products on the market
with unique properties. Nanomedicine is poised to scale and
will likely revolutionize diagnostics, therapeutics, and drug
delivery. In fact, nanoparticles are instrumental in the
mRNA COVID vaccines that have saved millions of lives.
When nanotechnology started being commercialized, we
helped several nanotech start-ups engage with the
Departments of Defense and Energy. We stand ready to
help other companies that may need some Federal support
to develop new products applying this remarkable
technology,” notes Kelly.
Bequeathing Brilliance
Kelly knows that starting and running a business is very
rewarding, and she encourages those who have a
promising idea or invention and are hungry to start
their business to take a risk and try. With numerous
game-changing technologies emerging, the
opportunities for developing and commercializing
innovative products and services have never been more
significant.
But on the flip side, running a business is hard work.
Kelly says, “Don't expect success overnight; building a
business takes time. You will have great days with
successes, but you will also face challenges, perhaps even
failures, that set you back, and, some days, you will feel like
throwing in the towel. Even Steve Jobs, with revolutionary
technology, struggled for years to get backers and Apple off
the ground. Eventually, it changed the world, and now is one
of the world's most valuable companies.”
“You must persevere, work through the tough problems,
constantly assess what you are doing right or wrong, listen
to the customer, and keep your eye on the future. Also, do
not hesitate to get a mentor or ask for advice from a
seasoned business owner or expert in your field. Many are
happy to share their hard-won wisdom. Also, in many
regions, economic development agencies have established a
range of services to help entrepreneurs and business
networks share information. Take advantage of them.”
“We have many latent entrepreneurs in this country. About
two-thirds of U.S. adults believe they have the knowledge
and skills to start a business, but only 12 percent of adults
intend to start a business in the next three years. Narrowing
that gap would be good for the American people and
building generational wealth, for our economy, U.S.
competitiveness, and the country!” Kelly concludes.
xceptional leaders find the courage to lose sight of
Ethe shore to discover the new oceans. Such leaders
constantly seek growth, exploration, and innovative
solutions. Anastasia Kuzmenko started her career in
Ukraine, but at the age of 23, she courageously challenged
herself to travel abroad to the UAE to put her knowledge to
the test. As the VP of Marketing & Communications at
IEC Telecom Group, Anastasia is systematically
increasing the brand value of the IEC Telecom Group
within the satellite industry by scaling up marketing
communications worldwide. IEC Telecom is empowering
communities with satellite communication solutions.
In an interview with CIO Look, Anastasia shares her
journey and contributions to the satellite communications
industry through IEC Telecom Group.
Below are the highlights of the interview:
Brief our audience about your journey as a business
leader until your current position at the Company.
What challenges do you have to overcome to reach
where you are today?
Since I had to start from square one in a new country, I take
much pride that I grew from an Operational Executive in a
local events agency into the role of VP of Marketing &
Communications with an international organization in less
than nine years. I am still in awe that I found the courage to

relearn everything from professional norms in the UAE to
ways of socializing in a multicultural environment. I would
happily repeat it all over again. This journey has not only
provided me with fantastic opportunities for professional
growth but also made me a better person.
Tell us something more about the Company and its
mission and vision.
IEC Telecom Group is one of the leading international
satellite service operators. Renowned for supplying high-
quality satellite-based solutions to customers for more than
25 years, IEC Telecom delivers efficient end-to-end voice
and data service and enables digitalization for the maritime
industry and remote units on land (where GSM coverage is
not available). Its portfolio includes many satellite
products (from handsets to VSAT services), solutions,
and value-added services. IEC Telecom Group has
offices across eight countries: Denmark, France,
Kazakhstan, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, Turkey, and
UAE.
“We keep you connected beyond limits" is more than a
motto; it's a strategic vision that is deeply rooted in the
corporate DNA. IEC Telecom Group is committed to
going the extra mile. Instead of offering 'one size fit all'
service packages, the global team takes the time and
effort to define technical requirements for each case
and subsequently delivers cost-effective solutions that
aim to resolve project-specific needs.
Enlighten us on how you have made an impact in the
industry through your expertise in the market?
In my journey with IEC Telecom, there are quite a few
accomplishments about which I feel excited. IEC
Telecom used to have a diversified marketing
communications system, whereby each office defined a
strategy of its own. Undertaking a global marketing
role, I set an objective to centralize communications
and develop a strong internationally recognized brand
with unified positioning. In four years, IEC Telecom's
July 2022 | 16 | www.ciolook.com
marketing infrastructure has undergone many changes,
including rebranding, launching global PR campaigns,
developing thought-leadership through exposure at
leading conferences, and expanding our digital
presence.
IEC Telecom has received international appreciation
within the satellite industry, and we are especially
honored to be awarded by Thuraya
Telecommunications (one of the major global Satcom
operators) for the "Best Marketing Campaign" twice: in
2021 and 2018.
Describe in detail the values and the work culture that
drives your organization.
There's a famous quote from the novel The Three
Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas: "All for one and one for
all!" This is the way we treat each other at IEC Telecom
Group. The company is built on a strong feeling of
belonging and mutual support. I believe this is one of
the key drivers of our success.
Undeniably, technology is playing a significant role in
almost every sector. How are you leveraging
technological advancements to make your solutions
resourceful?
Today, 'being online' is a basic requirement. At IEC
Telecom, we're committed to transcending the basics
and bringing cutting-edge technologies to our
customers to ensure not just operational continuity but
a thriving enterprise that is way ahead of the
competition.
Over the past five years, we have invested in the
development of specialized applications that are
optimized for the low-bandwidth environment.
Specifically talking about videoconferencing, it's
facilitating corporate communications and staff welfare
.
During the pandemic, it became inherent to a new
range of smart services in telemedicine, e-learning, and
remote maintenance. We were especially thrilled to
bring on a state-of-the-art solution, OneAssist, to the
market, which empowered field workers to conduct
multi-party video calls over a head-mounted device and
resolve 80% of their technical concerns over remote
access.
If given a chance, what change would you like to bring
to the industry?
At IEC Telecom, we believe that Satcom can bridge this
digital divide to empower communities with education,
public services, and corporate development, aiding
tremendous growth in developing regions across the
world.
What, according to you, could be the next big change
in the industry? How is your company preparing to be
a part of that change?
At IEC Telecom, we're gradually shifting our focus from
the material world of hardware to the virtual space of
smart apps and digital services. We believe this is
crucial to success in an ever-evolving business
landscape that is being defined by adaptability long into
the future. We've been observing two significant trends
in connectivity – (1) the increasing number of Satcom
players will lead to an oversupply of satellite services,
thus, earmarking airtime as an essential element of the
communications infrastructure, and (2) the Metaverse
is the near future, not just a futuristic concept,
increasing the demand for 'always-on' connectivity.
Where do you envision yourself to be in the long run
and what are your future goals for the company?
The power of IEC Telecom as a brand is growing. In less
than four years, we've scaled up our marketing
communications from region-by-region to a truly global
scale. I wish to further advance in the Satcom industry,
be able to engage industry influencers, and bring to life
effective ESG projects, serving communities while
ensuring the sustainable growth of our business.
What would be your advice to budding women
entrepreneurs who aspire to venture into the
industry?
First, stay up to date with industry trends as key
leverage. It is particularly essential in the marketing
world, where losing momentum can leave even the
most seasoned professional behind the competitive
curve. Second, step out of your comfort zone. Print
advertisement is fading away, giving way to paid social
media ads. The latter, in turn, will lose the battle to new
ways of marketing promised by the Metaverse.
Progress is fluid. Dare to experiment, yet do it wisely.

or sustainable business growth, building and

We at CIO LOOK caught up with Gloria in our quest to seek
“The 10 Most Successful Businesswomen to Watch, 2021.” We
talked with her to get more insights into her work and
understand how she has made her mark in the industry.
Below are the highlights of the interview.
Brief our audience about your journey as a business
leader until your current position at Rutan & Tucker.
What challenges have you had to overcome to reach
where you are today?
I graduated from Stanford University in 1999, the early
days of the internet. I worked at an educational start-up
which was later sold to Kaplan. I loved working in an
entrepreneurial start-up environment and advising
families, so I decided to attend law school at UC Berkeley
to continue counseling companies and businesses.
I worked at a large real estate firm to help with the
development of financing of real estate projects in
California. I was fortunate to have a great network of
colleagues and friends that helped me through the various
downturns in the economy and real estate cycles.
In my prior roles, the requirement to be behind your desk
doing client work while actively networking to develop a
book of business was challenging, especially for me
because I had difficult pregnancies and was trying to raise
two young children in a client service industry. Fortunately,
the organic relationships I invested in through bar
associations, non-profit organizations, and other
networking groups paid off into business development
opportunities. After about ten years of legal practice, my
current firm Rutan allowed me to create a unique role as its

Chief Business Development Officer, originating clients
for the firm and connecting the business community to
new opportunities.
Tell us something more about Rutan & Tucker and its
mission and vision.
Rutan is one of the largest full-service law firms in
California, with approximately 150 attorneys in Orange
County and Silicon Valley. We advise clients from start-
up companies to multi-national corporations with
middle-market corporate and real estate transactions,
litigation, employment, and intellectual property
matters.
Enlighten us on how you have made an impact in the
law practice niche through your expertise in the
market.
Prior to my new role as a Client Relations Partner at
Rutan, it was not very common to have designated
business development officers at law firms. Instead,
practicing lawyers were responsible for growing their
own individual practices. The success of Rutan's
investment in a role like mine where I provide a
platform for the entire firm by curating industry-
specific events and roundtables and coordinate
initiatives for the entire firm has been getting noticed,
and in the past few years, I have seen more firms invest
in business development roles both with lawyers and
marketing professionals.
Describe in detail the values and the work culture that
drives your organization.
Our firm has an entrepreneurial partnership model that
allows and encourages each attorney to develop their
own unique practice area and personal brand.
Undeniably, technology is playing a significant role in
almost every sector. How are firms leveraging
technological advancements to make their solutions
resourceful?
Some law firms are reimagining the billable hour and
incorporating AI and using outsourced resources for
diligence and practices outside of their core practices
to leverage technology and provide clients with the
best value proposition for their business needs.
Where do you envision yourself to be in the long run,
and what are your future goals for Rutan & Tucker?
My goal is to provide value to our clients by providing
practical, cost-efficient, and expert legal services that
anticipate future needs in the constantly evolving
business environment. I also want to support each
client in their professional goals by connecting
individuals to new career opportunities. This may be
helping them with new jobs, introducing them to
potential investors or business opportunities or
connecting them to a public or private company or non-
profit board seats.
What would be your advice to budding entrepreneurs
who aspire to venture into the law sector?
Even within the conservative legal industry, there are
ways to innovate your brand and career trajectory.
There are new ways to bring value to clients and create
roles within large law firms, such as positions in
diversity, equity, and inclusion, corporate social
responsibility, and data analytics. Don't be afraid to
leverage your strengths and passions to deliver what
clients need in a novel way.
I'm a business development professional that doesn't
look like a “typical” law firm partner. I am an Asian
American woman doesn't play golf or drink or know
much about sports, but I have been able to draw from
my interests and experience as a working parent to
connect with people in a meaningful way.

The Urge to in the
THRIVE
BUSINESS WORLD
hat are the things that shape the journey of
Wany entrepreneur? When you understand
the roles and responsibilities in the
organization, you indirectly evolve as a leader. For a
businesswoman, there are important factors to
consider like – work-life factors, risk factors,
confidence factors, and many more. Through this
article, we’ll see such factors that impact
businesswomen’s success.
Environmental Factor – A lot of things depend upon the
culture and its impact on the entrepreneur. Creativity
boosts in an environment where an individual feels
promoted to do so. To create a positive culture, you
have to support the individual, respect their thoughts
and ideas and celebrate their achievements. Having
such an environment gives the best results creating a
pool of talented women leaders for the industry. That is
why environmental or cultural factor is a big difference-
maker in the life of businesswomen.
Technological Factor – The technology platforms like AI,
Cloud Computing, IoT, or Machine Learning solve
complex issues and meet the changes of the business
world. Thus, businesswomen need to stay updated with
emerging technological trends. There are many women
leaders who have made their marks in the tech space,
and others are following. Technology has become an
important factor because the platform provides a
competitive edge and holds a greater capacity to drive
success for entrepreneurs and the organization.
Diversity and Inclusivity – If we want everyone to have
equal opportunities in life, diversity and inclusivity
should be encouraged in the organization. This is also
an important factor because everyone deserves to be
successful. This should not be limited to the workplace
but at all places for fair competition.
Work-Life Factor – You cannot be present at two places
at one time, can you? Being a woman, you have to fulfill
every role; you have to look after your home as well as
the work, so keeping the balance becomes crucial. In
this journey, the family members can help to co-
operate, and businesswomen can maintain the work-
life balance. This may be tough for the initial years, but
life becomes much easier once that balance is
maintained.
Community Factor – Your passion for your work is
valued even more when you serve the community.
Giving back to society is actually a part of the
organization now termed Corporate Social
Responsibility. For women, this comes quite naturally,
because being a mother in most cases, she always has a
caring heart.
Self-confidence - Self-confidence is another factor that is
necessary when making big decisions and making any
changes. This brings a positive approach to the team
and a belief among the team members in the leader.
Things to Consider
Above all, the thing that reflects in the businesswomen
is their never-giving-up attitude and their energy in
handling things. They never let go of things that easily.
If they are assigned some tasks, they will give their
heart and soul into it, no matter the task is small or big.
Even their approach is always helping and bringing new
ideas and perspectives to the table. Not only are they a
big asset to the team, but they have also become a big
force of the industry today, and their contribution is
worth appreciating.
Such businesswomen are setting the example for
coming new women leaders and are here to make their
mark in the world. We are seeing businesswomen
ticking all the boxes of leadership, and soon there will
be a world where businesswomen can thrive in all the
fields. The only thing, they need to consider these

Hilda Agajanian
Optimizing Patient Satisfaction with Extremely
Devoted and Caring Approach
July 2022 | 26 | www.ciolook.com
alue-based care can make a huge difference in
Vthe lives of patients. An ardent leader, Hilda
Agajanian has aptly exemplified it through her
institute, The Oncology Institute of Hope and
Innovation.
Hilda is committed to providing optimal care for her
patients during their most challenging times. Through
her diverse background, she cultivates a patient-centric
culture and optimizes patient satisfaction.
Inspired by her vision, we at CIO Look caught up with
Hilda to learn more about her journey and contribution
to healthcare.
A Switch to Healthcare
Hilda started her career in finance but made the switch
to healthcare when she and her husband, Dr. Richy
Agajanian identified a gap in the healthcare system.
They saw the cost of oncology care skyrocketing and
knew it was unsustainable. Together, they decided to
start their own practice, focusing on patient
satisfaction and outcomes. After opening the practice
in 2007, they found that their model of highly
specialized, community-based care delivered excellent
outcomes while managing costs.
As the demand for their services increased, The
Oncology Institute grew alongside its payor partners,
innovating new ways to expand access to high-quality
cancer care. When Hilda and Richy started TOI, value-
based cancer care was uncommon and relatively
unknown, but that did not deter them. They saw the
potential of reimagining cancer care and what it could
mean for patients and relentlessly pursued that goal.
Healing and Empowering Patients with Value-based
Approach
The Oncology Institute is dedicated to healing and
empowering patients through compassion, innovation,
and state-of-the-art medical care. TOI is helping to
rebuild the healthcare system in the U.S. by replacing
costly, inefficient Fee for Service care with a value-
based approach that aligns physicians, patients, and
payors to simultaneously enhance quality and manage
costs. TOI’s High Value Cancer Care (HVCC) model has
been validated through research conducted by
Stanford University which concluded that patients in
the HVCC program:
Ÿ Experienced 30% lower inpatient admissions
Ÿ 75% fewer ER visits in the last month of life
Ÿ 40% fewer acute care facility deaths
Ÿ 25% Lower median total healthcare costs from
diagnosis to death
Ÿ All while improving patient satisfaction by 14%
As one of the largest community-based oncology
practices in the country, TOI is delivering on the
promise of value-based healthcare and putting patients
first.
Providing Best-in-class Medical Care
During Hilda’s time at TOI, she has spearheaded a
number of innovative new programs, bringing best-in-
class medical care into the community setting. She
helped co-found Innovative Clinical Research Institute
(ICRI) in 2011, which serves as the research arm to TOI.
Today, ICRI manages 100+ clinical trials and serves as a
leader in the advancement of new cancer treatments. It
allows thousands of patients to access cutting-edge
treatment in their local communities. Clinical trials
aren’t the only specialized treatment Hilda has brought
to her clinics. In 2019, TOI launched outpatient
transfusion and stem cell transplant programs.
TOI is the first community-based provider on the West
Coast to offer outpatient stem cell transplants, allowing
patients and their families to avoid the hospital and
recover in a more comfortable setting. Transfusions are

a common element of a treatment plan for cancer and
blood disorder patients that typically requires a trip to
the hospital. By conveniently offering transfusions at all
TOI clinics, patients enjoy the convenience and comfort
of a familiar setting. TOI’s world-class cancer specialists
deliver quality care that is compassionate, easy to
access, and personalized to the needs of cancer
patients.
Creating Beneficial Environment for Patients and Each
other
The mission, vision, and core values at TOI inform every
decision by leadership and every interaction between
teammates and patients. The team at TOI is driven by
four core values – genuine empathy, better together,
strive for excellence, and unwavering integrity. By
keeping the experiences and needs of others at the
forefront, collaborating with colleagues, remaining
committed to continual improvement, and serving as an
honest and reliable partner, TOI teammates create an
environment that is beneficial for patients and each
other.
Constantly Improving and Enhancing Patient Care
TOI’s technology team is always looking for ways to
enhance the care that patients receive. Whether it is
rolling out a translated, ADA compliant website,
expanding telehealth capabilities, or improving
connectivity at clinics so patients can stream their
favorite show during treatment, they are always
looking for new ways to improve.
Being at the Forefront of Innovative Programs
Moreover, TOI is at the forefront of innovative
programs like research into clinical trials. ICRI hosts
hundreds of trials, and TOI physicians serve as Primary
Investigators, enrolling patients and contributing to
research. As for cancer prevention, patient education
and early detection are two of the most important tools
available. In addition to promoting both methods at TOI
clinics, TOI’s foundation, The Foundation of Hope and
Innovation, historically contributes to organization
leading research, education, and early detection.
Expanding Value-based Approach for Benefiting
Patients Everywhere
Hilda believes outcomes-based cancer care is the
future of oncology, so the biggest change she would
recommend for the industry is expanding that model
across the country. While value-based care has become
commonplace in California, there is still opportunity to
educate payors in other regions of the US about the
benefits of this model to patients, providers, and
payors.
Having dedicated her career to innovation in the
oncology space, Hilda remains committed to that goal.
She aspires to bring TOI’s cancer care model across the
country, ensuring patients everywhere can benefit from
the specialized, cutting-edge care TOI clinicians
provide.
Staying Committed to Vision
Hilda’s best advice to women starting their careers in
healthcare is to stick to their vision. “Hard work pays off,
and though the long days won’t be easy, there is nothing
more fulfilling than knowing you made an important impact
on your industry and on the lives of patients,” she
concludes.
“To date,The Oncology
Institute has served more than
150,000 patients with
personalized, precision
cancer care tailored to each
patient’s unique needs.”

At CIO Look, we got into conversation with Kami to know more about her
entrepreneurial journey and how she is impacting women everywhere.
Below are the excerpts from the interview:
Brief our audience about your journey as a business leader. What challenges you
had to overcome to reach where you are today?
I left the corporate world after a 20-year marketing exec journey that took me around
the world. I always say two gifts took me away from the corporate world. First, I got
laid off, and second, I got laid off in 2008, when there were no other VP Marketing
roles readily available. I had to take time to slow down and reconnect to myself. My
father passed away one month after I was laid off, and as I reflected on the life values
he taught me, I embarked upon a 17-month reflective journey of reconnecting to

myself and discovering that I had a different purpose
beyond being a corporate exec. It was not an easy journey
… I had significant self-perceptions and fears to break
through... Then, on one particular day, when it all felt like
my life was falling apart, the simple breath of my horse
helped me find the clarity and courage to start my own
business. From that moment, I never looked back. I knew
there was a different journey ahead for me.

What, according to you, could be the next big change in
Coaching industry? How is your company preparing to be a
part of that change?
The way we market coaching businesses has to shift. Instead
of using the old antiquated formulas of speaking to your
clients' pains, fears, and scarcity mindset, speak to your
clients' desires and aspirations. Speak to their love language,
not their pain language. There was a time in my business that
I followed a lot of the formulas and shiny
stars out there – teaching the pain-based
conversations. I got caught into the shiny
claims of success and switched my business
over to this approach several years ago, and
with that came a drop in business. I also
sounded like all the other mundane coaches
out there following the same formulas. When
I switched my marketing back to speaking to
my clients desires and all that was possible,
my business grew exponentially. I love
helping my clients expand what they think is
possible in their business, and speak their
own clients' love language. So much more
powerful – and together we're raising up the
energetic vibration of our world to a much
higher frequency, instead of playing to
uncertainty, fears and doubts.

million women! I am completely aligned with this
mission and calling!
What would be your advice to budding
entrepreneurs who aspire to venture into the
Coaching sector?
Ÿ Build a brand that is uniquely yours. This means
building your brand from the inside out from your
very essence: your strengths, passions and values.
Your life experiences have guided you to this point
in your life, and if you build a brand that weaves
together all the best parts of you, no one can serve
exactly like you. This eliminates competition –
because no one is exactly like you! It also opens
the door to more collaboration – as you bring your
best gifts forward and they bring their best gifts
forward – your impact is multiplied. No longer
does one plus one equal two; one plus one equals
much grander combined strength.
Ÿ Your energetic presence is your secret sauce. We
can have all the right branding and marketing in
place, the right packaging and pricing and be
showing up on stages and more – and if we're not
resonating in high vibe energy – your business can
get stuck. To attract your ideal clients into your
business, your inner fire needs to be burning bright
and strong. I call how we resonate our #RFactor™.
There are four elements to #Rfactor:
Ÿ Mindset – meditation, awareness, filling our minds
with good content
Ÿ Body – nourishment, movement, energetic self
care
Ÿ Spirit – however you spirit – playing in your inner
wisdom and purpose
Ÿ Community – choosing community that uplifts and
empowers you
If you spend time on each of these elements every
day, you will #RaiseUp your #RFactor – you will show
up in high vibration mode.
Create Community and Collaboration with influence.
Relationships are the heart of every business. Seek
out win:win partnerships with others and create
spaces where you can bring together the many people
you know and meet in your business dealings. There is
magic in the powerful introductions you can make.
Nurture relationships.

L
ong ago, there was a perception that women
could not lead and play effective roles in society
or businesses. But today, we can see that they
have gone beyond all prejudices and are playing a
pivotal role in every field. They have crossed over all the
barriers, and today women are the drivers of most
successful businesses and are the most resourceful
asset to many businesses all over the world. The
leadership of women is evolved over the years and is
continuing to evolve. They might have faced challenges
in their evolution, but they have been determined to
thrive in the world of business, and they have proved
their value to the world.
Understanding how female leadership has evolved over
time can help us tap the potential for their
advancement in the future. The evolution of women's
leadership is not an abrupt thing. It has been happening
for long years, and this evolution will continue to
happen in the future. Since the event of the collapse of
Lehman Brothers in September 2008, progress for
women leadership has proven quite more substantial.
Women leaders have proved that they are capable of
taking the right decisions. They have proved that they
understand the strategy and are rational in their
approach. They have the vision, mission, and guts to
play the role of leadership without being afraid and
drive the businesses in the appropriate direction of
growth and development.
Today, women realize their potential and act on their
greatest strengths to address the challenges that
minimize their efforts to build successful, rewarding,
and sustainable careers. Women leaders today are
choosing not to give in to the thought process of
someone else. They have their own thought process
and the opinions of wrong people do not provoke them.
Women’s perception of themselves as potential leaders
today has undergone a remarkable shift. They address
Evolution of
Women
Leadership
the needs that are to be addressed much diligently and
calculatedly. They don’t take irrational decisions but are
capable of taking high-value decisions that drive the
profitability of the businesses.
Women leaders have become more confident that they
can contribute significantly to any field. They are not
limiting themselves to any field, but they are thriving
even in the male-dominated industries also and setting
an exemplary example for many women to come ahead
and be a part of the workforce. They have learned the
value of female solidarity and supporting each other.
They are open to learning from each other. They are
comfortable working with men allies, and they are
proving themselves as a capable and resourceful asset
to the organizations with their leadership abilities and
soft skills. The women lead movements and
government support have also contributed significantly
to the rise of women's leadership.
Today no one can dare to underestimate the value
women leaders bring to the table. Many women today
are in leadership positions of global institutions and
influential companies. More women leaders have also
been elected to represent the high office in the world.
Today in 2021, almost 24 countries are being led by
women leaders.
Moreover, the pandemic has also contributed to the
evolution of women's leadership. As there is an
increasing shift towards remote work culture, there is
an opportunity to include a number of women in the
workforce.
Today women leaders are creating many opportunities
for themselves and are seizing the opportunities when
they are available. They are not casual and are ready to
play a key role by being in leadership positions. They
are demonstrating their excellence by leading
effectively and producing successful results. They are
strengthening their capabilities and resolve to push
through all the barriers and come out victorious. They
are defeating all prejudices and biases, setting the
standard of exemplary leadership, contributing to the
businesses profoundly, and proving their excellence.
Over the years, the leadership of women has evolved
incredibly and will continue to evolve more in the
future.

The Impacts of Pandemic on
Trucking
Industry
Ellen founded the non-profit organization,

encourage and support women in the trucking
industry. The mission is to make women aware
of career opportunities and to mentor and assist
them as they become more successful in their
roles. Ellen's most recent position was Manager

and then promoting corporate initiatives to

About the Author
July 2022 | 37 | www.ciolook.com
he pandemic has had both positive and negative
Timpacts on the trucking industry, and these have
changed as the virus has progressed through its
successive variants. From hero to being unemployed, the
industry has been both honored and then marginalized by
the politics surrounding this epidemic.
During the early months of 2020 there was a great deal of
uncertainty surrounding COVID 19. No one could be
certain if they were taking the proper precautions and
drivers were especially vulnerable. Not only were they
expected to continue delivering the nation's freight, but they
were also experiencing unbelievable challenges just to do
their jobs.
The initial reaction was to prohibit people from gathering to
halt the spreading of the virus. Restaurants were closed as
sit-down seating was banned. This meant that professional
drivers who formerly could stop at a truck stop and enjoy a
relaxing meal could no longer have this luxury. The
problem was that a tractor trailer cannot fit through a driver
through fast food restaurant, and no one was allowed inside
to order, so that food option was no longer available.
Suddenly rest areas were closed because the states did not
want to provide facilities for fear of spreading germs. This
affected all drivers, but for our female commercial drivers
the consequences were more dire. Without a place to stop
for relief, drivers had to resort to other measures, such as
port-a-potties in the trucks or aligning routes to find
available facilities.
Shippers and receivers were also hesitant to accommodate
drivers' biological needs and closed their washrooms as
well. Some offered outdoor temporary potties, but these
were typically unisex and often unheated (not to mention
unsanitary).
To make matters worse, it was hard to get personal
protective gear to our drivers on the road. They couldn't
find hand sanitizer or masks at most truck stops and unless
they could return to their home terminal, they just didn't
have the items they needed to protect themselves and to
keep their trucks sanitized.
Over the months, as the virus transitioned into various
names and levels of impact, the trucking industry continued
to deliver the products consumers demanded. While the
trend to work from home increased, it didn't apply to our
professional drivers.
Once a vaccine was available, things changed. Everyone
was encouraged to become vaccinated to protect themselves
and their families and colleagues. The typical driver spends
many hours alone in the cab of a truck. Many are attracted
to the trucking lifestyle because they are independent and
self-sufficient and resist working in an environment that
requires a great deal of supervision.
An independent and self-reliant type of person is also less
likely to accept directives from their government or
employer, which was reflected in the low vaccination rates
of professional drivers. Some estimates are as low as half of
the driving population were, or are, fully vaccinated.
That's when the hero driver was suddenly ostracized for not
being in compliance with the vaccine mandates. Early
mandates required companies with one hundred or more
employees to require vaccinations, so drivers left the larger
companies and turned to those not affected by the mandate.
Many drivers became owner-operators, so they had more
autonomy over their careers.
Some companies required drivers to be vaccinated to even
pick up or deliver on their property. Others had mandates
because they were government contractors. The lists
changed often as mandates were subjected to legal
challenges.
Many of the heroes at the beginning of the pandemic have
now left the industry to avoid these mandates, and as
evidenced by recent protests, they have decided to resist.
This is created even further divide between drivers and
often their carriers, but specifically with the government.
The future will reveal whether our professional drivers will
return to hero status in the coming years. The pandemic
showed the importance of the industry but resulted in a
more divided work force.

n recent years, the shift of women leaders towards
Ientrepreneurship has increased exponentially, but
when one is born with a knack for entrepreneurship,
nothing can stop oneself. The above statement wholly
resembles Manna Kadar and her entrepreneurial
venture Manna Kadar Beauty. She is a natural-born
leader who proved herself as a successful young
entrepreneur in the competitive sales and marketing
realm early on in her career.
Manna is a well-known persona in the cosmetics
industry for her evolutionary line of product produce
with the motto Beauty Simplified. She aims to simplify
her consumers’ beauty routine!
We at CIO Look caught up with Manna in our
expedition to find ‘The 20 Most Successful
Businesswomen to Watch, 2021.’ We got into a
conversation to have an insight and understand how
the thought process behind her high-quality beauty and
wellness products.
Dive right in.
Journey Until Now
Manna was born in the world’s fashion capital, Paris.
Her courageous single mother and grandmother raised
Kadar in California. She grew up in a tough
neighborhood and witnessed first-hand the battle to
survive and viewed education and enterprise as the
way out of the struggle.
At age 16, Manna purchased her first cosmetics store at
the local mall, and at 18, she became one of the
handfuls of students accepted into college. She stayed
close to home, studying Finance and Distribution
Management at USC. She implemented what she
learned to grow her mall-based cosmetics chain to
seven stores in six years in her entrepreneurial drive.
After college, Manna sold her beauty business to enter
the world of corporate banking. Over the next six years,
she excelled rapidly yet missed the fulfillment and
purpose that entrepreneurship provided. In 2007, she
exited the finance world, taking everything she learned
and applying it to her new venture: developing a chain
of tanning salons that would one day lead to the Manna
Kadar Beauty empire.
Seeking to maximize revenues creatively, Kadar turned
her tanning salon lobby into a beauty bar. The idea
quickly gained traction, giving Kadar her first
opportunity to develop an original cosmetics line. By
really listening to the needs of her customers, she was
able to craft products that delivered real-world beauty
solutions, growing the small company into what is today
a family of six brands with more than 600 SKUs in
40,000 stores nationwide - all without outside
investment.
Better than the Rest
The motto of Manna Kadar Beauty – “when you look
good, you feel good” - means something different to
everyone. She designed products to suit multiple
concepts of beauty, from minimalist to glam.
Understanding that makeup can feel time-consuming
and too technical for some, she developed her signature
three-step Beauty Simplified System, coordinating
instructions with numbered products to streamline
application. More than the opportunity for profits,
July 2022 | 41 | www.ciolook.com
Kadar is drawn to the hope and self-confidence she can
encourage others through her work. She has found that
providing people with multi-functional, high-quality
cosmetics can change their whole outlook on life,
helping them become the best version of themselves.
The Wide Range of Manna Kadar Beauty
Manna Kadar has become a celebrity in the
entrepreneur world, carving her name and brand out in
Orange County, California, for over a decade now as the
GO TO in all thing’s affordable luxury for life! She has
become a reliable resource for her cult following,
delivering high-quality beauty and wellness products
that perform.
The self-made, self-funded minority mompreneur
behind the Manna Kadar Cosmetics family includes
Manna Kadar Beauty, Goddess by Manna Kadar,
Beauty and the Bump, Haute Dog luxury pet products,
Mason Man Skincare, and Manna Kadar Luxe Bath and
Body. She is the creator of the “7 Minute Face,” Kadar’s
three-step, award-winning Beauty Simplified System,
and a Life Stylist host for MKB’s weekly Amazon live.
Driven by a philanthropic DNA, Kadar gives back 10%
of the company’s annual profits to a variety of
organizations she supports year-round.
Manna has worked hard to curate beauty products that
fill a void—being able to produce products that are
multi-functional and easy to use sets Manna Kadar
Beauty apart from other beauty brands.
Awards and Accolades
Kadar’s innovative approach to both beauty and
business has earned her a spot among the Orange
County Business Journal’s “2021’s Top 50 most
influential people”, “Top 40 Under 40 Beauty CEOs,”
along with being named 2018’s USC Alumni Member of
the Year.
The Manna Kadar brand made Inc. Magazine’s 2020
“Top 5,000” list and is published among the fastest-
growing enterprises in the LA Business Journal. The
U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) recently
named her 2020 Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
Putting Pedal to the Metal
Manna states that her venture has dedicated various
marketing efforts to all things digital in the last year. It
has found great success engaging its current and future
customers with video. She adds that you can discover
Manna Kadar Beauty streaming all things beauty on
Instagram to Amazon and all the channels in between.
Never Give Up
Manna advises budding entrepreneurs aspiring to
venture into the cosmetics sector to be true to
themselves. She says, “Create a brand that you believe in
and shoot for stars. There may be days where you want to
give up but don’t. You can’t win the lottery if you don’t buy a

Founder and President

S
tarting the business from scratch to become
a prominent business leader in the financial
services industry,Rose Araghchy is an
inspiration to numerous women through
her leadership. She is the Founder and
President of R2 Advisors PC, leading with
the motto to manage, compete, and sleep better
knowing your finances are in their hands. Rose wants
the company to be ata place that is smarter, innovative,
more dynamic, and more flexible.
R2 Advisors PC provides financial advisory services,
consulting services, compliance services, and asset
management services to organizations, improves
organizational effectiveness, and addresses clients'
most complex problems. The company is embracing
change and want to help their partners tackle their
challenges and improve their organizations by helping
them adapt.
Building a Business from the Ground Up
Rose started working for various firms, learning to
climb the corporate ladder at a young age. She worked
with some of the best leaders in the industry and came
across others that she would never follow into battle.
She learned a lot about leadership working at the 'Big 4'
and their clients. Among those, the most difficult
challenge to overcome was not the late nights, difficult
deadlines, or complex financials; it was daring to step
away and build a business from the ground up.
Rose says, "The challenge of starting my own company had
its complexities, but the shift from working for someone to
building a brand and legacy you are responsible for has it's
a constantly evolving game of chess. The biggest thing to
overcome is how you manage people both to create loyalty
and hold them accountable for results. Many of the
challenges were not taught in an academic environment
and are skills that I have started to acquire with more
experience."
Providing a More Flexible Consulting Model
Rose says, "Gaining access to financial professionals with
our background is hard. The average small to midsized
business won't be able to just contact a person at one of the
big accounting firms or speak to an elite portfolio manager
who has had that big corporate experience. At R2 Advisors,
we wanted to change that."
July 2022 | 45 | www.ciolook.com
R2 Advisors wanted to create a smaller scale firm that
provides significant experience and access to the tools,
technology, and investments that big firms have access
to. R2 Advisors also offer a more flexible consulting
pricing model by eliminating and reducing the
frustration of "surprises" sometimes found in
professional services work. R2 Advisors PC's models
adapt to the needs of its customers and are elastic.
Ensuring Collaboration, Efficiency, and Effective
Management
Rose says, "We love what we do. To be successful, you
need to work with a team that shares the greater vision you
have. How to get from A to B and navigate through
obstacles in between."
She adds, "Because our industry is highly regulated and
includes a lot of deadlines, stress, data, and information; we
try to tackle all these things through collaboration,
communication, efficiency, and effective management."
Rose wants to take an approach that motivate R2's
most "valuable asset our people.", and tries to take on
different tasks that motivate R2's people. They
evaluate what type of benefits their employees want
and where they want to be in the next 5 years and allow
everyone to have a voice in shaping the future of R2
Advisors. R2 and its future growth rely on the vision of
everyone on the team. They try to listen as much as
possible and see how they can build a better company
together.
Streamlining Different Functions of Organizations
Rose truly believes that adapting to technological
change for any business is what ultimately keeps a
company thriving in the current market.
R2 Advisors ensures that they use and partner with the
best technological solutions for their clients. They try
to access tech that the "big boys" only have access to.
They negotiate and try to get the best possible costing
models before implementing any technology that
brings value to their clients.
Process automation and streamlining different
functions at an organization can tremendously improve
bottom lines at businesses. Deciphering data through
July 2022 | 46 | www.ciolook.com
better analytics can enable leaders to make
much better decisions. R2 Advisors PC brings
those tools, implements them, and works with
its clients to be able to adapt.
Internally, R2 Advisors PC uses the best
technology to create efficiency as well.
Rose says, "At the end of the day, Leaders need to
be both value creators who execute strategy and
game-changers who innovate, and we live by that
mantra."
Reducing Barriers for Small Firms and
Encouraging Female Leaders
Rose would like to reduce barriers to the
market to gain momentum for newly emerging
financial services firms. She expresses that
smaller firms need to be given a greater chance
to service institutions, grow their base, and gain
access to more resources because they drive
the economy.
Rose says, "We are in a new era where female
leaders are just starting to feel more empowered.
Keeping up with this momentum and supporting
women in the financial services industry is
important for future generations. I would love to
see more women in finance lead the way."
Providing Value to Clients in Innovative Ways
Alternative Investments and adaptation to the
remote work revolution are the biggest changes that
R2 Advisors PC is preparing for, and it wants to create
and maintain an inclusive working world. Rose wants
R2 Advisors to scale with client trust in mind. In the
next couple of years, they are looking for more
innovative ways to provide value to their clients and
create a unique and inclusive culture internally.
R2 Advisors want to be able to gain more significant
market share through institutional investments and
fund administration services for their private equity
clients as they are placing a huge focus on these areas.
A lot of exciting new projects are in the works at R2. All
while incorporating and trying to add an innovative
edge to it.
Making the Working World a Better Place through
Diversity
Rose says it is a very tough world to get heard as a
woman. She shares precious wisdom for women
entrepreneurs, "While you set on your entrepreneurial
journey, keep in mind that occasional setbacks are
inevitable. Keep your head up high and be confident
because women who start businesses are usually the ones
that help make the world a better place. Don't ever lose a
sense of integrity, empathy, and compassion. As more and
more women become leaders, we will see an innovative
business landscape that is diverse, tolerant, and looking to
better the world.”

  • 12. A n idea to leverage technology to help clients develop a strategy for engaging with the Federal government, shaping its research and technological agenda and creating compelling messaging for advocacy to advance client interests positioned the Honorable Kelly H. Carnes as the trailblazer to follow. Kelly is known for her entrepreneurial drive and is a nationally recognized technology policy expert. She is a thought leader who has spent three decades serving the high-tech industry in various fields. Today, as the President and CEO of TechVision21, Kelly has led the company to become an innovation strategy powerhouse with a passion for advancing clients' leading-edge innovations. Unveil Kelly's passionate leadership that continues helping companies partner with the Federal government. This allows TechVision21 to focus on business development and growing the company Up Until Now When Kelly earned her law degree, she started working as an attorney at a national law firm to negotiate and structure technology business deals. This included joint ventures, strategic alliances, venture capital transactions, licensing and marketing agreements, and arrangements for systems integration projects. Then Kelly was recruited to work in the White House as an aide to First Lady Hilary Clinton in 1992. Kelly states that the Clinton Administration was implementing a groundbreaking national technology agenda, which she wanted to support. She transferred to the U.S. Department of Commerce, where she led some of the Administration's key technology initiatives. For example, Kelly served as a senior policy advisor to four Secretaries of Commerce. The President nominated, and the Senate confirmed Kelly to be the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Technology Policy. In that role, Kelly was a liaison to, and advocate for, the technology business community and led Presidential and Cabinet-level technology initiatives. During Kelly's tenure as Assistant Secretary, she learned that most organizations—whether start-ups or global giants—were not leveraging Federal Government policies, programs, and funding as well they could be to advance their business and competitive goals. Hence, after leaving the government, Kelly founded TechVision21 to help companies, universities and science and technology non-profit organizations take advantage of Federal government support for research and technology development and deployment in an economy driven by technology and innovation. An Innovation Strategy Powerhouse TechVision21 is a specialized consulting firm providing a wide range of services to its clients. It monitors and identifies opportunities for Federal funding that can support projects to advance client technologies or initiatives. Kelly asserts, “When those opportunities arise in the form of Federal Requests for Proposals, we provide intensive support in developing high-quality, competitive, You must persevere, work through the tough problems, constantly assess what you are doing right or wrong, listen to the customer, and keep your eye on the future. “ “
  • 13. and compliant proposals. Also, our staff performs think- tank quality research and draft talking points, fact sheets, and reports in support of our clients. My philosophy is that we can do well at TechVision21 while doing good by supporting clients that contribute to U.S. economic growth, prosperity, and competitiveness.” TechVision21 has helped its clients secure more than $100 million in grant funding to advance their cutting- edge technologies in areas such as microelectronics, nanotechnology. clean energy, and manufacturing. It also helped clients support research centers and regional technology-based economic development initiatives. TechVision21 also provides analysis to help several Federal departments better understand their STEM workforce and the challenges they face in meeting their needs for scientists and engineers. Based on this analysis, the team helps them develop and execute STEM workforce development strategies. Clients at the Forefront Kelly mentions that she is fortunate to have an outstanding staff with decades of experience in Federal technology policy, the U.S. innovation system, and the dimensions of U.S. competitiveness. She shares, “We also have a network of independent experts and consultants we can bring into large projects or when the specific knowledge needed is not resident in our permanent staff. Our values are to provide our clients with our best and most honest advice based on our experience and customized services that meet their specialized needs.” “Our staff and network of experts are professionals dedicated to providing the highest quality work products and meeting deadlines even if that means working late into the night or weekends,” explains Kelly. TechVision21's work involves a high level of collaboration with clients and its staff. Kelly expresses that collaboration is made easier as they all work remotely and can connect virtually. One result of the pandemic is that TechVision21 clients can now engage with busy Federal policy makers and program managers without coming to Washington. The TechVision21 team has sponsored numerous conversations and briefings with people who can help their clients during the pandemic. Waving the Technological Wand According to Kelly, the past two decades have been a tough time for U.S. manufacturing. Tens of thousands of manufacturing establishments closed, resulting in millions of people losing manufacturing jobs. Kelly believes that there is a golden opportunity to strengthen manufacturing by leveraging emerging technologies to create new products and transform the manufacturing process. She says, “A host of new technologies—artificial intelligence, sensors, the Internet of Things, autonomous systems and robots, biotechnology, nanotechnology, AR/VR, and more—are revolutionizing the way we make things. So, I would like to see widespread deployment of these technologies to lower costs and make manufacturing smarter and more flexible to make it easier Our staff and network of experts are professionals dedicated to providing the highest quality work products and meeting deadlines even if that means working late into the night or weekends. “ “
  • 14. to introduce new products, and more energy-efficient. All of this would make us more competitive in global technology markets for manufactured products.”It is critical that the United States returns to a “Made in America” philosophy.” Kelly understands that nanotechnology has been advancing but under the public's radar. Many consumer products incorporate nanotechnology in many cases —clothing, cosmetics, batteries, sports equipment, food packaging, even toothpaste. It is also a foundational technology in advanced microelectronics. “Manufacturers are just getting warmed up, and we are going to see many new nano-based products on the market with unique properties. Nanomedicine is poised to scale and will likely revolutionize diagnostics, therapeutics, and drug delivery. In fact, nanoparticles are instrumental in the mRNA COVID vaccines that have saved millions of lives. When nanotechnology started being commercialized, we helped several nanotech start-ups engage with the Departments of Defense and Energy. We stand ready to help other companies that may need some Federal support to develop new products applying this remarkable technology,” notes Kelly. Bequeathing Brilliance Kelly knows that starting and running a business is very rewarding, and she encourages those who have a promising idea or invention and are hungry to start their business to take a risk and try. With numerous game-changing technologies emerging, the opportunities for developing and commercializing innovative products and services have never been more significant. But on the flip side, running a business is hard work. Kelly says, “Don't expect success overnight; building a business takes time. You will have great days with successes, but you will also face challenges, perhaps even failures, that set you back, and, some days, you will feel like throwing in the towel. Even Steve Jobs, with revolutionary technology, struggled for years to get backers and Apple off the ground. Eventually, it changed the world, and now is one of the world's most valuable companies.” “You must persevere, work through the tough problems, constantly assess what you are doing right or wrong, listen to the customer, and keep your eye on the future. Also, do not hesitate to get a mentor or ask for advice from a seasoned business owner or expert in your field. Many are happy to share their hard-won wisdom. Also, in many regions, economic development agencies have established a range of services to help entrepreneurs and business networks share information. Take advantage of them.” “We have many latent entrepreneurs in this country. About two-thirds of U.S. adults believe they have the knowledge and skills to start a business, but only 12 percent of adults intend to start a business in the next three years. Narrowing that gap would be good for the American people and building generational wealth, for our economy, U.S. competitiveness, and the country!” Kelly concludes.

Anastasia Kuzmenko started her career in Ukraine, but at the age of 23, she courageously challenged herself to travel abroad to the UAE to put her knowledge to the test. As the VP of Marketing & Communications at IEC Telecom Group, Anastasia is systematically increasing the brand value of the IEC Telecom Group within the satellite industry by scaling up marketing communications worldwide. IEC Telecom is empowering communities with satellite communication solutions. In an interview with CIO Look, Anastasia shares her journey and contributions to the satellite communications industry through IEC Telecom Group. Below are the highlights of the interview: Brief our audience about your journey as a business leader until your current position at the Company. What challenges do you have to overcome to reach where you are today? Since I had to start from square one in a new country, I take much pride that I grew from an Operational Executive in a local events agency into the role of VP of Marketing & Communications with an international organization in less than nine years. I am still in awe that I found the courage to leave my hometown despite good career prospects and the comfort of having family and friends around. This journey has not only provided me with fantastic opportunities for professional growth but also made me a better person. Tell us something more about the Company and its mission and vision. IEC Telecom Group is one of the leading international satellite service operators. Renowned for supplying high- quality satellite-based solutions to customers for more than 25 years, IEC Telecom delivers efficient end-to-end voice and data service and enables digitalization for the maritime industry and remote units on land (where GSM coverage is not available). Its portfolio includes many satellite products (from handsets to VSAT services), solutions, and value-added services. IEC Telecom Group has offices across eight countries: Denmark, France, Kazakhstan, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, Turkey, and UAE. “We keep you connected beyond limits" is more than a motto; it's a strategic vision that is deeply rooted in the corporate DNA. IEC Telecom Group is committed to going the extra mile. Instead of offering 'one size fit all' service packages, the global team takes the time and effort to define technical requirements for each case and subsequently delivers cost-effective solutions that aim to resolve project-specific needs. Enlighten us on how you have made an impact in the industry through your expertise in the market? In my journey with IEC Telecom, there are quite a few accomplishments about which I feel excited. IEC Telecom used to have a diversified marketing communications system, whereby each office defined a strategy of its own. Undertaking a global marketing role, I set an objective to centralize communications and develop a strong internationally recognized brand with unified positioning. In four years, IEC Telecom's July 2022 | 16 | www.ciolook.com
  • 19. marketing infrastructure has undergone many changes, including rebranding, launching global PR campaigns, developing thought-leadership through exposure at leading conferences, and expanding our digital presence. IEC Telecom has received international appreciation within the satellite industry, and we are especially honored to be awarded by Thuraya Telecommunications (one of the major global Satcom operators) for the "Best Marketing Campaign" twice: in 2021 and 2018. Describe in detail the values and the work culture that drives your organization. There's a famous quote from the novel The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas: "All for one and one for all!" This is the way we treat each other at IEC Telecom Group. The company is built on a strong feeling of belonging and mutual support. I believe this is one of the key drivers of our success. Undeniably, technology is playing a significant role in almost every sector. How are you leveraging technological advancements to make your solutions resourceful? Today, 'being online' is a basic requirement. At IEC Telecom, we're committed to transcending the basics and bringing cutting-edge technologies to our customers to ensure not just operational continuity but a thriving enterprise that is way ahead of the competition. Over the past five years, we have invested in the development of specialized applications that are optimized for the low-bandwidth environment. Specifically talking about videoconferencing, it's facilitating corporate communications and staff welfare . During the pandemic, it became inherent to a new range of smart services in telemedicine, e-learning, and remote maintenance. We were especially thrilled to bring on a state-of-the-art solution, OneAssist, to the market, which empowered field workers to conduct multi-party video calls over a head-mounted device and resolve 80% of their technical concerns over remote access. If given a chance, what change would you like to bring to the industry? At IEC Telecom, we believe that Satcom can bridge this digital divide to empower communities with education, public services, and corporate development, aiding tremendous growth in developing regions across the world. What, according to you, could be the next big change in the industry? How is your company preparing to be a part of that change? At IEC Telecom, we're gradually shifting our focus from the material world of hardware to the virtual space of smart apps and digital services. We believe this is crucial to success in an ever-evolving business landscape that is being defined by adaptability long into the future. We've been observing two significant trends in connectivity – (1) the increasing number of Satcom players will lead to an oversupply of satellite services, thus, earmarking airtime as an essential element of the communications infrastructure, and (2) the Metaverse is the near future, not just a futuristic concept, increasing the demand for 'always-on' connectivity. Where do you envision yourself to be in the long run and what are your future goals for the company? The power of IEC Telecom as a brand is growing. In less than four years, we've scaled up our marketing communications from region-by-region to a truly global scale. I wish to further advance in the Satcom industry, be able to engage industry influencers, and bring to life effective ESG projects, serving communities while ensuring the sustainable growth of our business. What would be your advice to budding women entrepreneurs who aspire to venture into the industry? First, stay up to date with industry trends as key leverage. It is particularly essential in the marketing world, where losing momentum can leave even the most seasoned professional behind the competitive curve. Second, step out of your comfort zone. Print advertisement is fading away, giving way to paid social media ads. The latter, in turn, will lose the battle to new ways of marketing promised by the Metaverse. Progress is fluid. Dare to experiment, yet do it wisely. July 2022 | 17 | www.ciolook.com

Gloria serves as the Client Relations Partner at Rutan & Tucker, LLP, where she implements new and creative initiatives for developing client relationship initiatives for the firm. Her dedication and expertise in her work have been recognized and honored with several national and state awards for her legal skills and her community advocacy. We at CIO LOOK caught up with Gloria in our quest to seek “The 10 Most Successful Businesswomen to Watch, 2021.” We talked with her to get more insights into her work and understand how she has made her mark in the industry. Below are the highlights of the interview. Brief our audience about your journey as a business leader until your current position at Rutan & Tucker. What challenges have you had to overcome to reach where you are today? I graduated from Stanford University in 1999, the early days of the internet. I worked at an educational start-up which was later sold to Kaplan. I loved working in an entrepreneurial start-up environment and advising families, so I decided to attend law school at UC Berkeley to continue counseling companies and businesses. I worked at a large real estate firm to help with the development of financing of real estate projects in California. I was fortunate to have a great network of colleagues and friends that helped me through the various downturns in the economy and real estate cycles. In my prior roles, the requirement to be behind your desk doing client work while actively networking to develop a book of business was challenging, especially for me because I had difficult pregnancies and was trying to raise two young children in a client service industry. Fortunately, the organic relationships I invested in through bar associations, non-profit organizations, and other networking groups paid off into business development opportunities. Tell us something more about Rutan & Tucker and its mission and vision. Rutan is one of the largest full-service law firms in California, with approximately 150 attorneys in Orange County and Silicon Valley. We advise clients from start- up companies to multi-national corporations with middle-market corporate and real estate transactions, litigation, employment, and intellectual property matters. Enlighten us on how you have made an impact in the law practice niche through your expertise in the market. Prior to my new role as a Client Relations Partner at Rutan, it was not very common to have designated business development officers at law firms. Instead, practicing lawyers were responsible for growing their own individual practices. The success of Rutan's investment in a role like mine where I provide a platform for the entire firm by curating industry- specific events and roundtables and coordinate initiatives for the entire firm has been getting noticed, and in the past few years, I have seen more firms invest in business development roles both with lawyers and marketing professionals. Describe in detail the values and the work culture that drives your organization. Our firm has an entrepreneurial partnership model that allows and encourages each attorney to develop their own unique practice area and personal brand. Undeniably, technology is playing a significant role in almost every sector. How are firms leveraging technological advancements to make their solutions resourceful? Some law firms are reimagining the billable hour and incorporating AI and using outsourced resources for diligence and practices outside of their core practices to leverage technology and provide clients with the best value proposition for their business needs. Where do you envision yourself to be in the long run, and what are your future goals for Rutan & Tucker? My goal is to provide value to our clients by providing practical, cost-efficient, and expert legal services that anticipate future needs in the constantly evolving business environment. I also want to support each client in their professional goals by connecting individuals to new career opportunities. This may be helping them with new jobs, introducing them to potential investors or business opportunities or connecting them to a public or private company or non- profit board seats. What would be your advice to budding entrepreneurs who aspire to venture into the law sector? Even within the conservative legal industry, there are ways to innovate your brand and career trajectory. There are new ways to bring value to clients and create roles within large law firms, such as positions in diversity, equity, and inclusion, corporate social responsibility, and data analytics. Don't be afraid to leverage your strengths and passions to deliver what clients need in a novel way. I'm a business development professional that doesn't look like a “typical” law firm partner. I am an Asian American woman doesn't play golf or drink or know much about sports, but I have been able to draw from my interests and experience as a working parent to connect with people in a meaningful way. This may be tough for the initial years, but life becomes much easier once that balance is maintained. Community Factor – Your passion for your work is valued even more when you serve the community. Giving back to society is actually a part of the organization now termed Corporate Social Responsibility. For women, this comes quite naturally, because being a mother in most cases, she always has a caring heart. Self-confidence - Self-confidence is another factor that is necessary when making big decisions and making any changes. This brings a positive approach to the team and a belief among the team members in the leader. Things to Consider Above all, the thing that reflects in the businesswomen is their never-giving-up attitude and their energy in handling things. They never let go of things that easily. If they are assigned some tasks, they will give their heart and soul into it, no matter the task is small or big. Even their approach is always helping and bringing new ideas and perspectives to the table. Not only are they a big asset to the team, but they have also become a big force of the industry today, and their contribution is worth appreciating. Such businesswomen are setting the example for coming new women leaders and are here to make their mark in the world. We are seeing businesswomen ticking all the boxes of leadership, and soon there will be a world where businesswomen can thrive in all the fields. The only thing, they need to consider these above factors, and they can bring transformation in the world. SPEARHEADING UPWARDS July 2022 | 25 | www.ciolook.com

  • 29. alue-based care can make a huge difference in Vthe lives of patients. An ardent leader, Hilda Agajanian has aptly exemplified it through her institute, The Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation. Hilda is committed to providing optimal care for her patients during their most challenging times. Through her diverse background, she cultivates a patient-centric culture and optimizes patient satisfaction. Inspired by her vision, we at CIO Look caught up with Hilda to learn more about her journey and contribution to healthcare. A Switch to Healthcare Hilda started her career in finance but made the switch to healthcare when she and her husband, Dr. Richy Agajanian identified a gap in the healthcare system. They saw the cost of oncology care skyrocketing and knew it was unsustainable. Together, they decided to start their own practice, focusing on patient satisfaction and outcomes. After opening the practice in 2007, they found that their model of highly specialized, community-based care delivered excellent outcomes while managing costs. As the demand for their services increased, The Oncology Institute grew alongside its payor partners, innovating new ways to expand access to high-quality cancer care. When Hilda and Richy started TOI, value- based cancer care was uncommon and relatively unknown, but that did not deter them. They saw the potential of reimagining cancer care and what it could mean for patients and relentlessly pursued that goal. Healing and Empowering Patients with Value-based Approach The Oncology Institute is dedicated to healing and empowering patients through compassion, innovation, and state-of-the-art medical care. TOI is helping to rebuild the healthcare system in the U.S. by replacing costly, inefficient Fee for Service care with a value- based approach that aligns physicians, patients, and payors to simultaneously enhance quality and manage costs. TOI’s High Value Cancer Care (HVCC) model has been validated through research conducted by Stanford University which concluded that patients in the HVCC program: Ÿ Experienced 30% lower inpatient admissions Ÿ 75% fewer ER visits in the last month of life Ÿ 40% fewer acute care facility deaths Ÿ 25% Lower median total healthcare costs from diagnosis to death Ÿ All while improving patient satisfaction by 14% As one of the largest community-based oncology practices in the country, TOI is delivering on the promise of value-based healthcare and putting patients first. Providing Best-in-class Medical Care During Hilda’s time at TOI, she has spearheaded a number of innovative new programs, bringing best-in- class medical care into the community setting. She helped co-found Innovative Clinical Research Institute (ICRI) in 2011, which serves as the research arm to TOI. Today, ICRI manages 100+ clinical trials and serves as a leader in the advancement of new cancer treatments. It allows thousands of patients to access cutting-edge treatment in their local communities. Clinical trials aren’t the only specialized treatment Hilda has brought to her clinics. In 2019, TOI launched outpatient transfusion and stem cell transplant programs. TOI is the first community-based provider on the West Coast to offer outpatient stem cell transplants, allowing patients and their families to avoid the hospital and recover in a more comfortable setting. By conveniently offering transfusions at all TOI clinics, patients enjoy the convenience and comfort of a familiar setting. TOI’s world-class cancer specialists deliver quality care that is compassionate, easy to access, and personalized to the needs of cancer patients. Creating Beneficial Environment for Patients and Each other The mission, vision, and core values at TOI inform every decision by leadership and every interaction between teammates and patients. The team at TOI is driven by four core values – genuine empathy, better together, strive for excellence, and unwavering integrity. By keeping the experiences and needs of others at the forefront, collaborating with colleagues, remaining committed to continual improvement, and serving as an honest and reliable partner, TOI teammates create an environment that is beneficial for patients and each other. Constantly Improving and Enhancing Patient Care TOI’s technology team is always looking for ways to enhance the care that patients receive. Whether it is rolling out a translated, ADA compliant website, expanding telehealth capabilities, or improving connectivity at clinics so patients can stream their favorite show during treatment, they are always looking for new ways to improve. Being at the Forefront of Innovative Programs Moreover, TOI is at the forefront of innovative programs like research into clinical trials. ICRI hosts hundreds of trials, and TOI physicians serve as Primary Investigators, enrolling patients and contributing to research. As for cancer prevention, patient education and early detection are two of the most important tools available. In addition to promoting both methods at TOI clinics, TOI’s foundation, The Foundation of Hope and Innovation, historically contributes to organization leading research, education, and early detection. Expanding Value-based Approach for Benefiting Patients Everywhere Hilda believes outcomes-based cancer care is the future of oncology, so the biggest change she would recommend for the industry is expanding that model across the country. While value-based care has become commonplace in California, there is still opportunity to educate payors in other regions of the US about the benefits of this model to patients, providers, and payors. Having dedicated her career to innovation in the oncology space, Hilda remains committed to that goal. She aspires to bring TOI’s cancer care model across the country, ensuring patients everywhere can benefit from the specialized, cutting-edge care TOI clinicians provide. Staying Committed to Vision Hilda’s best advice to women starting their careers in healthcare is to stick to their vision. “Hard work pays off, and though the long days won’t be easy, there is nothing more fulfilling than knowing you made an important impact on your industry and on the lives of patients,” she concludes. “To date,The Oncology Institute has served more than 150,000 patients with personalized, precision cancer care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.” July 2022 | 28 | www.ciolook.com

  • 36. L ong ago, there was a perception that women could not lead and play effective roles in society or businesses. But today, we can see that they have gone beyond all prejudices and are playing a pivotal role in every field. They have crossed over all the barriers, and today women are the drivers of most successful businesses and are the most resourceful asset to many businesses all over the world. The leadership of women is evolved over the years and is continuing to evolve. They might have faced challenges in their evolution, but they have been determined to thrive in the world of business, and they have proved their value to the world. Understanding how female leadership has evolved over time can help us tap the potential for their advancement in the future. The evolution of women's leadership is not an abrupt thing. It has been happening for long years, and this evolution will continue to happen in the future. Since the event of the collapse of Lehman Brothers in September 2008, progress for women leadership has proven quite more substantial. Women leaders have proved that they are capable of taking the right decisions. They have proved that they understand the strategy and are rational in their approach. They have the vision, mission, and guts to play the role of leadership without being afraid and drive the businesses in the appropriate direction of growth and development. Today, women realize their potential and act on their greatest strengths to address the challenges that minimize their efforts to build successful, rewarding, and sustainable careers. Women leaders today are choosing not to give in to the thought process of someone else. They have their own thought process and the opinions of wrong people do not provoke them. More women leaders have also been elected to represent the high office in the world. Today in 2021, almost 24 countries are being led by women leaders. Moreover, the pandemic has also contributed to the evolution of women's leadership. As there is an increasing shift towards remote work culture, there is an opportunity to include a number of women in the workforce. Today women leaders are creating many opportunities for themselves and are seizing the opportunities when they are available. • 40. he pandemic has had both positive and negative Timpacts on the trucking industry, and these have changed as the virus has progressed through its successive variants. From hero to being unemployed, the industry has been both honored and then marginalized by the politics surrounding this epidemic. During the early months of 2020 there was a great deal of uncertainty surrounding COVID 19. No one could be certain if they were taking the proper precautions and drivers were especially vulnerable. Not only were they expected to continue delivering the nation's freight, but they were also experiencing unbelievable challenges just to do their jobs. The initial reaction was to prohibit people from gathering to halt the spreading of the virus. Restaurants were closed as sit-down seating was banned. This meant that professional drivers who formerly could stop at a truck stop and enjoy a relaxing meal could no longer have this luxury. The problem was that a tractor trailer cannot fit through a driver through fast food restaurant, and no one was allowed inside to order, so that food option was no longer available. Suddenly rest areas were closed because the states did not want to provide facilities for fear of spreading germs. This affected all drivers, but for our female commercial drivers the consequences were more dire. Without a place to stop for relief, drivers had to resort to other measures, such as port-a-potties in the trucks or aligning routes to find available facilities. Shippers and receivers were also hesitant to accommodate drivers' biological needs and closed their washrooms as well. Some offered outdoor temporary potties, but these were typically unisex and often unheated (not to mention unsanitary). To make matters worse, it was hard to get personal protective gear to our drivers on the road. They couldn't find hand sanitizer or masks at most truck stops and unless they could return to their home terminal, they just didn't have the items they needed to protect themselves and to keep their trucks sanitized. Over the months, as the virus transitioned into various names and levels of impact, the trucking industry continued to deliver the products consumers demanded. While the trend to work from home increased, it didn't apply to our professional drivers. Once a vaccine was available, things changed. Everyone was encouraged to become vaccinated to protect themselves and their families and colleagues. The typical driver spends many hours alone in the cab of a truck. Many are attracted to the trucking lifestyle because they are independent and self-sufficient and resist working in an environment that requires a great deal of supervision. An independent and self-reliant type of person is also less likely to accept directives from their government or employer, which was reflected in the low vaccination rates of professional drivers. Some estimates are as low as half of the driving population were, or are, fully vaccinated. That's when the hero driver was suddenly ostracized for not being in compliance with the vaccine mandates. Early mandates required companies with one hundred or more employees to require vaccinations, so drivers left the larger companies and turned to those not affected by the mandate. Many drivers became owner-operators, so they had more autonomy over their careers. Some companies required drivers to be vaccinated to even pick up or deliver on their property. Others had mandates because they were government contractors. The lists changed often as mandates were subjected to legal challenges. Many of the heroes at the beginning of the pandemic have now left the industry to avoid these mandates, and as evidenced by recent protests, they have decided to resist. This is created even further divide between drivers and often their carriers, but specifically with the government. The future will reveal whether our professional drivers will return to hero status in the coming years. The pandemic showed the importance of the industry but resulted in a more divided work force. She grew up in a tough neighborhood and witnessed first-hand the battle to survive and viewed education and enterprise as the way out of the struggle. At age 16, Manna purchased her first cosmetics store at the local mall, and at 18, she became one of the handfuls of students accepted into college. She stayed close to home, studying Finance and Distribution Management at USC. She implemented what she learned to grow her mall-based cosmetics chain to seven stores in six years in her entrepreneurial drive. After college, Manna sold her beauty business to enter the world of corporate banking. Over the next six years, she excelled rapidly yet missed the fulfillment and purpose that entrepreneurship provided. In 2007, she exited the finance world, taking everything she learned and applying it to her new venture: developing a chain of tanning salons that would one day lead to the Manna Kadar Beauty empire. Seeking to maximize revenues creatively, Kadar turned her tanning salon lobby into a beauty bar. The idea quickly gained traction, giving Kadar her first opportunity to develop an original cosmetics line. By really listening to the needs of her customers, she was able to craft products that delivered real-world beauty solutions, growing the small company into what is today a family of six brands with more than 600 SKUs in 40,000 stores nationwide - all without outside investment. Better than the Rest The motto of Manna Kadar Beauty – “when you look good, you feel good” - means something different to everyone. Rose wants the company to be ata place that is smarter, innovative, more dynamic, and more flexible. R2 Advisors PC provides financial advisory services, consulting services, compliance services, and asset management services to organizations, improves organizational effectiveness, and addresses clients' most complex problems. The company is embracing change and want to help their partners tackle their challenges and improve their organizations by helping them adapt. Building a Business from the Ground Up Rose started working for various firms, learning to climb the corporate ladder at a young age. She worked with some of the best leaders in the industry and came across others that she would never follow into battle. She learned a lot about leadership working at the 'Big 4' and their clients. Among those, the most difficult challenge to overcome was not the late nights, difficult deadlines, or complex financials; it was daring to step away and build a business from the ground up. Rose says, "The challenge of starting my own company had its complexities, but the shift from working for someone to building a brand and legacy you are responsible for has it's a constantly evolving game of chess. The biggest thing to overcome is how you manage people both to create loyalty and hold them accountable for results. Many of the challenges were not taught in an academic environment and are skills that I have started to acquire with more experience." Providing a More Flexible Consulting Model Rose says, "Gaining access to financial professionals with our background is hard. The average small to midsized business won't be able to just contact a person at one of the big accounting firms or speak to an elite portfolio manager who has had that big corporate experience. At R2 Advisors, we wanted to change that." July 2022 | 45 | www.ciolook.com

To be successful, you need to work with a team that shares the greater vision you have. How to get from A to B and navigate through obstacles in between." She adds, "Because our industry is highly regulated and includes a lot of deadlines, stress, data, and information; we try to tackle all these things through collaboration, communication, efficiency, and effective management." Rose wants to take an approach that motivate R2's most "valuable asset our people.", and tries to take on different tasks that motivate R2's people. They evaluate what type of benefits their employees want and where they want to be in the next 5 years and allow everyone to have a voice in shaping the future of R2 Advisors. R2 and its future growth rely on the vision of everyone on the team. They try to listen as much as possible and see how they can build a better company together. Streamlining Different Functions of Organizations Rose truly believes that adapting to technological change for any business is what ultimately keeps a company thriving in the current market. R2 Advisors ensures that they use and partner with the best technological solutions for their clients. They try to access tech that the "big boys" only have access to. They negotiate and try to get the best possible costing models before implementing any technology that brings value to their clients. Reducing Barriers for Small Firms and Encouraging Female Leaders Rose would like to reduce barriers to the market to gain momentum for newly emerging financial services firms. She expresses that smaller firms need to be given a greater chance to service institutions, grow their base, and gain access to more resources because they drive the economy. Rose says, "We are in a new era where female leaders are just starting to feel more empowered. Keeping up with this momentum and supporting women in the financial services industry is important for future generations. I would love to see more women in finance lead the way." Providing Value to Clients in Innovative Ways Alternative Investments and adaptation to the remote work revolution are the biggest changes that R2 Advisors PC is preparing for, and it wants to create and maintain an inclusive working world. Rose wants R2 Advisors to scale with client trust in mind. In the next couple of years, they are looking for more innovative ways to provide value to their clients and create a unique and inclusive culture internally. R2 Advisors want to be able to gain more significant market share through institutional investments and fund administration services for their private equity clients as they are placing a huge focus on these areas. A lot of exciting new projects are in the works at R2. All while incorporating and trying to add an innovative edge to it.
