FEW POINTS TO GET SUCCESS IN CA EXAMINATION
(1) Importance of Study Module by ICAI :
In my opinion, students should go through thoughrally study module provided by ICAI, as study
Module cover subject in depth with current scenario from the point of view of exam.
Hence, Ist Step of Success is Deep Study of Study Module.
(2) Understanding of Subject Vs. Rattafication :
In my point of view to get success / good marks not only in CA exams, but also in other exams,
students must understand deeply the subject instead of Rattafication,
Since, those students having conceptual clarity of subject can attempt / answer the question, even
if examiner ask question in a different way, instead of those who has studied through
Rattafication.
(3) Understand the question Vs. Don’t mix with other
It means before start writing the Answer, Ist clearly understand, what examiner has asked ?
Few Examples are as under
(a) Examiner ask the advance payment of Service Tax, however, student may get confused with
Advance Tax Provisions of Income Tax
(b) Examiner ask composition Scheme under VAT, however, Students may get confused with
composition scheme under Service Tax.
To avoid this problem, it is advised that students should Focus / Underline the Subject / Act under
which examiner has asked the question.
(4) Revision of Subject :
In my opinion, students should at least 3 or 4 times do revision of the subject, to get more clarity
/ command on the subject. And another way, if students discuss the important topics with other
students, because due to discussion one can easily memories the topic & their doubts or
misconceptions get cleared.
(5) Concept of Step Marking :
You may understand the concept of step marking. For example, even if your final Answer is
wrong, you may get the step marks if you don’t forget to show the Answer by Systematic
Approach like Answer must support with suitable working notes in the case of particle
questions.
(6) Neat and Clean Hand writing:
Try to write Neat & Clean, if examiner is not in a position to understand what is written, then it
will effect adversely on your marks.
(7) Ist Impression is Last Impression
Always try to do the question firstly on which you have good command. As people says that
“Good begun is Half done”.
And, always highlight the quote or sections to impress examiner & he may not read the story
stated beneath.
(8) Manner of Attempting the paper & Time Management
In my opinion always try to do all part of the question at a place, if you are not able to do at a
time leave the sufficient pages according to your estimate & length of Answer, and complete the
question according to your time management, instead of scattered Answer.
Do not emphasize on one question, instead allot proper time to all question & try to complete
your paper at least 10 minutes before so that you can check if any deficiency is noticed in paper
to remove it before delivering the paper.
(9) Space between Two Answers
In my opinion always leave the gap between two Answers. It means, if your Answer is
completed on page no. 10 of the Answer sheet, then start next question on page no. 11 instead of
starting on page no. 10 itself.
Further, above approach may also be applied between sub parts of the question / answer, eg., Part
(a ), (b) & (c ) of the Answer may be started on the basis of above approach.
(10) Essay Type Vs Point wise Answer
In my opinion always write Answer Point / Heading wise instead of Essay Type, to get the good
marks.
(11) Follow the Instruction written on Answer books
Always read & follow the instruction written on the Answer books and don’t try to write your
Nick Name, cell no. etc. on the Answer book to avoid the complication.
(12) Always follow the Medium opted
It means, always write your Answer according to the medium opted i.e., if Hindi Medium is
opted then always write theory portion of Answer in Hindi Medium, instead of English Medium
or vice versa.
(13) Reach the examination Centre before time
Always try to reach the Examination Centre at least Half an Hour before the start of
Examination, and get your goodself in cool & calm position to avoid the tension of Exam &
forget the Answer in Hurry due to late reaching at Centre.
(14) Avoid Discussion on Past Paper between Two Paper
Do not try to discuss the previous paper attempted when Next paper is to be attempted to avoid
the demoralization and attempt next paper with a good Morale & Fresh Mind, as all of us know
that History / Past can’t be changed. However, we can learn from Past & can remove deficiencies
to make future bright.
(15) Criticism is beginning of success
Always focus on the examiner’s comments given in the suggested Answers. In my opinion
criticism is a beginning of success. You should focus & Analyze your weak Areas & try to
remove your weaks so that you can get success like some students have good command on
theory instead of Practical Portion or vice a versa, hence, remove your weak areas or say focus
on weak area to ahead in your Aim.
(16) Practical Vs Theory
Should maintain balance between Practical & Theory portion of the subject, as both have equal
importance & without balancing between both success may be little bit away.
