ICT is used extensively in science, mathematics, modeling and simulation to enhance learning. In science, ICT tools are used to collect data, do presentations and demonstrations, perform predictions, and enable interactive education. In mathematics, ICT provides benefits for effective learning through tools that give feedback, allow observing patterns and links, exploring data, and developing visualizations. Computer modeling and simulation are useful for representing systems without actually creating them, enabling predictions about the future, training without risk, and investigating systems in detail. The key difference is that modeling builds a digital representation of an object, while simulation runs a model to simulate conditions. Both provide benefits like being cost-effective, allowing repeated testing, and improving user efficiency.

1. ICT in Science, Mathematics,
Modeling and Simulation
INTRODUCTION: -
21th century created new global economy
“which is powered by technology, fueled
by information and driven by knowledge”
2. Role of ICT In Science
ICT is used in today’s science by the modern
world to make activities easier and more
productive. It also enable user to access and
manipulate information. The use of ICT in
science education enhance students overall
learning experience in numerous ways. In
Science teacher and students use different tool
application for teaching and learning.
3. Uses Of ICT In Science:
1. For collect Scientific Data:
Example: It is easy to collect the
information for the project “function of
heart” by using computer rather than
library.
2. For Presentation:-
Example: To explain the “Structure
of Atom” with presentation slides
3. For Demonstrate:
Example:” Function of digestive system”
or “Planetary system”.
4. 4. For Prediction:
Example: “Weather Forecasting”
5. For Interactive Education
Example: Internet, educational software,
Computer tutorials, online books, YouTube,
Video conferring.
5. Roll of ICT in Mathematics:
ICT is powerful resource for the mathematics.
It provides benefits for the effective learning
and teaching of Mathematics. Many ICT tool
are developed for teaching and learning
Mathematics. These tools are helpful for
teacher and student for plan and reach the
goal. Such tools make students the active
participant in Mathematics learning. The
nature of Mathematics has changed
considerably because of the availability of ICT.
6. Uses of ICT in Mathematics:
1) Feedback
Example: Solve equation with
graphical user interface on
computer.
2) Observing Patterns:
Example: In GeoGebra,Draw a triangle and then
explore the effect of varying values (see more
information in unit 6).
3) Observing Links:
Example: In GeoGebra, put two equation graphically
on computer it show seeing connection between
them.
7. Example :-Students taken part in online survey for collect the
information and exploring it in graphically format for analysis
5) Exploring data :
4) Developing Visualize image:
Example 3-D image of cuboids enable to solve Pythagoras theorem.
8. ICT promote enjoyment.
ICT provide the opportunities for
student to take part in co-operative
activities .
ICT provide variety of challenging
learning process.
ICT provide the variety of stimuli.
ICT provide the different way for
manipulate diagram.
9. Role of ICT in Modeling and Simulation
Computer model or simulation, that
attempts to simulate an abstract model of a
particular system. Computer simulation
have become a useful part of mathematical
and science modeling. A computer model
refers to the algorithms and equations used
to capture the behavior of the system being
modeled. However, a computer simulation
refers to the actual running of the program
which contains these equations or
algorithms. Simulation, therefore refer to an
instance where you run a model.
10. Modeling
Computer modeling is the representation of
three dimensional objects on the computer,
using some form of software designed for the
purpose, among the uses of computer modeling
are war games and disaster simulations
situations in which computer offer a safe,
relatively inexpensive means of creating or
recreating events without the attendant loss of
life or property.
Modeling:- A modeling is a computer
program that attempts to stimulate a real life
system. Or it is virtual version of something in a
real world.
11. Uses:
1.Without create the system test the system.
Example: car model is used to test how safe the
design of the car is in crash.
2. By using computer model it is easy to predict
for the future.
Example: a computer model of a weather
system can be used to predict storms
3.Without putting the people at risk it easy
to train the people.
Example: for Pilots training computer model
flight is used.
4.Computer model is used for investigate a
system detail.
Example: compute car model is used for
investigate its engine life.
12. 1.Simulation:
Computer simulation is the special type of
computer model. It create artificial model of a
system. It offer hand on activities that feel like the
real experience. Simulation of a system is
represented as the running of the system of model. It
can be used to explore and gain new insights into
new technology. Computer simulation brings real
world experiences that cause the wonder what if. The
simulation program provide simulation and lead the
children to answer they may not gain in another way.
13. Simulation:-Computer simulation is the technique of
representing the real world by a computer program.
Uses of Simulation
•It is used in research.
Example: Test explosive material virtually
It is used in risky training.
Example: In pilot training. [Fig.3.14]
•It is used in education.
Example: To demonstrate and explain the behavior of complex and
dynamic system of different elements.
•It is used in Entertainment.
Example: War games, arcade games.
14. These two terms usually means, about the same
thing. Computer modeling is the part of computer
simulation, in which a digital model of an object is
built which is designed to work like the real thing. The
computer can then use this model to simulate various
different conditions which the real object may have to
deal with. You wouldn’t “build a simulation” you
would “build a model”, but you could either “run a
model” or “run a simulation”. Model and simulation
are often used interchangeably and the difference
between them is trivial.
Difference between computer modeling and simulation
15. Benefits of modeling and simulation:
•It is cost effective.
•It is time consuming in training program if there
is large number of participants.
•It can use any time.
•It is test more than one time.
•It improves the efficiency of the user.
•It work is steadily.
•It is fast and easy to use.
•It is multi-faceted, flexible and dynamic.
