1. Aesthetica film festival reflections
I recently attended the Aesthetica film festival, there were many interesting
presentations that I attended in which I gathered some very valuable
knowledge to do with filmmaking and animation. My favourite part of the film
festival was probably the interview, multiple film makers where interviewed
and asked for their individual inputs on certain aspects of film making, I liked
this portion of the festival so much because hearing the points of view from
already established and professional film makers widened my knowledge base
and granted me a lot of executive insight. This experience has definitely
positively impacted my current work, and will also do so for my future work. I
also went to the animation lecture, the presenter took us through and showed
us multiple different animation genres, he explained the technical process
behind each individual style and compared them, intelligently pointing out the
differences. I enjoyed this section because of the in depth discussion when it
came to the creative processes, although in this instance referring to
animation, I think I can apply the mentioned techniques to other formats of
work and improve because of it. In conclusion, attending the Aesthetica film
festival 2022 was an insightful experience, my creative outlook has most
definitely been positively and significantly altered because of it. Since
attending I have seen an improvement in my confidence level when
approaching complex, difficult briefs for an upcoming project, I also believe the
final products of some of my projects since then have improved compared to
my older work, all in all Aesthetica was a great experience and I would
recommend to anyone doing a creative media course.
