Project proposal title and date:
Percolator podcast
Main area of activity:
My work will be a podcast
Rationale: 100 words approx.
Review your progress throughout the 2 years- what products have you made and what skills and
knowledge have you acquired? How will you use those skills?
What was your previous, similar production and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
During my time on the media course so far I have made a variety of products including a music
video, a pop art style poster, an audio bases horror story, horror posters and magazine covers,
bathroom design magazine covers and much more. I have acquired many skills including
photoshop knowledge, editing skills and others. I will use those skills to improve and make sure
the work I do in the future will be as best as possible so that I can achieve a good grade, I will also
use them in my free time whenever I want to do a project.
Project Concept: 200 words approx.
bI am going to make a podcast in which me and 2 others will be talking about certain topics, for
example we will converse on current fashion trends, specific clothing pieces and other fashion
related things. We will also be talking about music, underground music, specific artist discussions
and our favourite styles of music. In terms of research I will need to expose myself to multiple
different types of podcasts to potentially take inspiration from them and implement certain good
things into my own podcast. I will also need to research on editing styles and what types of edits
work with longer, more simple pieces of visual work, for example, short and condensed projects
like music videos are generally more fast paced, meaning they adopt different editing styles
compared to podcasts. Podcasts, since they are normally quite long must be structured in a certain
way also, since if structured incorrectly the conversations in the podcast could start to get a bit
unrelated. To make sure this doesn’t happen I will have to research on how to avoid it. Also I think
I will conduct a couple of different testers to familiarise me and the cast members with the podcast
setting.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed: 50 words approx.
I plan on evaluating the work based on previous projects I have done including, previous visual
and audio work, also taking inspiration from those and previous and current production
experiments, I think formulating my idea of the podcast with inspiration of previous units will me out
a pretty good amount.
