1. Lieutenant colonel Coculescu Bogdan-Ioan is a doctor (M.D.), primary physician specialty in
Laboratory Medicine, Doctor of Medical Sciences - speciality Genetics, Head of Laboratory of
Microbiology, Parasitology and Virology at Center for Preventive Medicine of the Ministry of
National Defence, Romania (since 2002, by contest) and lecturer - Bacteriology. Microbiology
(Head of Discipline), Virology, Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, "Titu Maiorescu" University
of Bucharest, Romania.
In 1996 he graduated from the "Carol Davila" Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy Bucharest -
Military Medical Institute (university degree marked with 10 – maximum).
In 1997 he was a trainee doctor in General Medicine at the "Dr. Carol Davila" Central University
Emergency Military Hospital, Bucharest (Medical Clinic III) and later he served successively as
Chief Medical Officer (and Chief Infirmary) - in the 71st Tank Battalion (part of the 7th Tank
Brigade Slatina), and respectively, in the 49th Protection Nuclear, Bacteriological and Chemical
Battalion (NBC) Pitesti (of the 1st Army).
Following the promotion of the national competition for residency (November 1997, ranked
42nd in the national ranking), during January 1998 - October 2001 he graduated the courses in
the speciality Clinical Laboratory, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Parasitology and Hematology
(Laboratory Medicine), as for the position presented by the Ministry of National Defence,
training in Bucharest - the Fundeni Institute (Biochemistry and Hematology courses),
"Cantacuzino" National Institute of Research-Development for Microbiology and Immunology
(Cantacuzino NIRDMI), "Stefan S. Nicolau" Institute of Virology, and respectively, "Dr. Carol
Davila" Central Universitary Military Emergency Hospital.
In October 2001, he passed the speciality examination and obtained the doctor specialist degree ,
and in June 2009 he became primary physician in the speciality of Laboratory Medicine.
Between 2004 (Febr.) - 2010 (Dec.), he was a student for Doctor of Medicine’s Degree, the
speciality Genetics, Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy "Carol Davila" Bucharest (within his
doctorate he took three exams, presented three papers, published six scientific articles in the field
of research and presented a poster at the Congress of the Romanian Medical Association,
Romanian Academy, 2009). In April 2011 he defended his Doctor’s Degree thesis.
In the period 2006-2009 he was a member of the working group of the Medical Department of
the Ministry of National Defence which conceived, designed, received and nationally certificated
the module of Preventive Medicine of the first Romanian Mobile Military Field Hospital - level
ROL 2.
Between 1st of Febr. 2010 - 30 June 2011 he was transferred to the Centre of Medical-Military
Research of the Ministry of National Defence (in the Laboratory of Epidemiology and
Epidemiological Emergencies and subsequent Clinical Toxicology - Floreasca Clinical
Emergency Hospital Bucharest).
In April 2011 he obtained the certificate in "Health Care Management" upon completion of
training organized by the National School of Public Health and Health Management between
October 2010 - March 2011. This training program was equated by the Human Resources
Management Department of the Ministry of National Defence by address DMRU
A750/06.10.2011 with "Postgraduate Course for Leadership" according to the position activity
field.
As microbiological diagnosis work is a constant concern of the officer, he has executed several
missions in the country in military exercises ("DEMEX 05", "ROUEX 09", and in 2011 two
SIMFTX-LFX's, Field Tactical Exercises-Live Fire Exercises) with large units and units that
would be deployed in theaters of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

2. In September 2013 he participated in joint medico-military exercises "MEDEX 2013" with
Alabama National Guard (USA).
Between 14 February 2011 - 30 September 2012 he conducted a teaching and research activity as
an Assistant Professor, nominal position (following a competition) in Physiology, Faculty of
Medicine and Dentistry, "Titu Maiorescu" University of Bucharest.
Between 1st of October 2012 - 1st of March 2013, still as the Assistant Professor at "Titu
Maiorescu" University, he taught Bacteriology course to the second year of General Medicine
and Dentistry and supported practical work in general medicine, according to university
curriculum.
In the Semester 2 of the academic year 2008-2009 he was Assistant Professor (paid by the hour)
of the BIOTERRA University, Bucharest, where he held seminars of Commercial Law.
Simultaneously, Lt. colonel lecturer dr. Coculescu Bogdan-Ioan has a degree in Law, a graduate
of the Faculty of Law, University of Bucharest (2007 - first in his promotion, r.f.) and Master
Degree in "International Law and Community", Faculty of Law, University "Nicolae Titulescu
"Bucharest (2008 - second in his batch of students promoted).
He graduated from the English course of "Carol I" National Defence University Bucharest,
January 7th, 2013 - July 4th, 2014.
He is a graduate of the Compact Programme of Psycho-Pedagogical (level I and II), Titu
Maiorescu" University Bucharest, November 2012 - June 2013.
He graduated from the "Microbiological analysis of drinking water" course, National Institute of
Public Health, 12 to 16 of November 2012, Bucharest.

Dr. Bogdan-Ioan Coculescu is sole author or co-author of three books. He is the author of three
scientific articles, first author of nine papers published in prestigious magazines in the country

correspondence) of seven works in the medical field, etc., and for the paper (presented as a
poster) "Molecular analysis of resistance to beta-lactams of Salmonella Typhimurium strains
isolated from children with diarrhea" he received the Diploma of Excellence in 2009 (third prize)
– Doctor’s Degree student Section at the Annual Congress of the Romanian Medical Association
held at the Romanian Academy.
He has been awarded the "Medal of Honor of the Romanian Armed Forces" highest award of the
Ministry of National Defense, for outstanding contribution to raising the prestige of the
Romanian Army (December 1st, 2007).
He is decorated with the honorary sign "The Motherland Service Officers" for the twentieth
anniversary and outstanding results in carrying out the duties and training (December 2013).
Also he received the "Diploma of Excellence" from the Medical Department of the Ministry of
National Defense for having worked in the NATO exercise "ROUEX 2009," the first
international certification of the ROL-2 Mobile Hospital.Subsequently, he has performed the
highest-ranking officer position of the Medical Corps in medical-military training and evaluation
missions (from March to May 2012) and the re-evaluation during the FTX "MEDEX-14" (April
2014) mission to maintain operational status of this Medical Formation with extensive facilities -
the Romanian ROL 2 Enhanced Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
For his monograph "Considerations on the Mechanisms of Bacterial Resistance to Antibiotics"
he received the "National University Book Fair Diploma " (8th edition) issued by Pharmacy
"Carol Davila" Days at "Carol Davila" Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy Bucharest, National
Parlour of University Book and Medical Students' Days, September 30th - October 5th, 2012,
Bucharest.
The results of his research in the field of bacterial resistance to antibiotics has also been

A number of four of his published articles were reviewed favorably in the Romanian weekly
medical magazine "Viata Medicala" (Medical Life) (no. 3/23 January 2013, no. 44/3 November
2007, no. 35/1 September 2007, and no. 15/13 April 2007).
He is a founding member of the Romanian Medical Association for Plasmapheresis (2011). He is
a member of the Charity Association in the Romanian Army - CAMARAZII (since 2012). He is
also a member of the College of Physicians of Romania (with the right of free practice), a
member of the Romanian Association of Military Physicians and Pharmacists (AMFMR),
member of the Romanian Association of Medical Laboratories (ALMR) - formerly the
Foundation for Clinical Laboratory "Marcela Zamfirescu Gheorghiu "(since 1999) and member
of the Romanian Society of Telemicroscopy.
He graduated "Zinca Golescu" High School in Pitesti, Bachelor of Science in Physics and
