Since many people don't take depression very seriously and stigmatize approaching counsellors, we chose this topic as our IGCSE team project. Basically, our main aim is to create awareness about causes and consequences of depression .
So it's OK to talk about depression.

workshop we
shared this
worksheet with
the students to
know what they
feel in different
situations and
how they react
to different
situations.
33. In the question answer session many of the
teachers and students asked their questions and
the counsellors suggested solutions to their
respective problems.

41. Conclusion
This is an emerging issue in India as well as other countries, and to solve this issue, people
need to start off with considering depression as a serious mental illness. We concluded that
many people don’t consider approaching counsellors when they’re stressed or depressed, many
people stigmatized approaching counsellors. From our survey, we got to know that 65.4%
people use social media in their free time, and that is one of the leading cause of depression.
Overall, we were successful in achieving our aim. In order to overcome depression, we
conducted various activities such as increasing mindfulness, and performing another activity
called “Penny your thought” which helped them a lot in order to reduce their depression . Apart
from this, we also suggested them certain measures that motivated them to get involved
themselves in outdoor games, spend time with them and socialise.
