Creative tip FIMO soft „Flowery easter eggs“

Flower Power for Easter eggs, lanterns, greeting cards and bottles – really easy to make with
FIMO SOFT. Step by step, we show you how the flowery Easter eggs are created. In no time at all,
a folded piece of art paper can be decorated with colourful bits of paper. Cut a matching flower pot
out of corrugated card, add some FIMO flowers on wire stems behind it, attach a bow and your
Easter greeting card is finished! The flowery wire adds a special personal touch to any gift item!

Material

FIMO SOFT in the colours apple green (50), tangerine (42), raspberry (22) and dayglow blue
(301), some transparent sleeves or a ceramic tile to serve as a work surface, 1 rubber roller or
bottle for rolling out with, 1 craft knife, several clear glass Easter eggs (for the glued FIMO flowers,
transparent plastic eggs can be used!), a towel and super-glue.
Additional material for the greeting card, flowery wire and lantern:

1 sheet of light green coloured art paper DIN A4, several left-over bits of turquoise and pink paper,
1 piece of orange corrugated cardboard, 1 small orange bow, 1 pair of zigzag scissors, 1 craft
knife, all-purpose glue, 1 roll of thin, silver-coloured wire and 1 wide glass.

Step 1

For the fully-covered glass Easter eggs you will need 1 half block of FIMO SOFT per egg. Roll it
out using the rubber roller or bottle to an approx. 1 mm thick sheet. Wrap the rolled-out FIMO
around the egg.

Step 2

To fit the sheet of FIMO around the egg: Simply press the overlapping edges together so that they
stick out. Your FIMO shell is not yet firmly smoothed over the egg. Make “darts” by pressing
surplus amounts of the FIMO wrap together. In doing so, protruding corners are formed which you
simply cut off with the craft knife, following the shape of the egg. Now, the joins in the FIMO are
smoothed over using your fingers. Using the craft knife, cut a clean edge in the FIMO around the
egg’s hanger.
Step 3

Out of left-over bits of FIMO SOFT make thin “sausages” approx. 4 mm in diameter and then cut
off 1 mm slices. Press these pieces onto the covered egg to form flowers.

Step 4

Before hardening, an attractive-looking structure can be created on the FIMO by pressing the towel
against the surface of the decorated egg.
Step 5

For the Easter eggs with glued-on FIMO flowers, make individual petals out of the thin FIMO
sausages (see illustration 4) as shown (from left to right). Harden the flowers in the oven. The
flowers have to look good from both the front and back which is why they need a pistil on both
sides.

To link the flowers with wire, first take one FIMO pistil, press the wire onto it and then add the
petals and the second pistil.

Step 6

Place the covered glass eggs, the individual flowers and the flowers attached to the wire on a
piece of foil. Harden in the oven at 130°C for 25 minutes. An oven thermometer can be used to
check that the oven reaches the correct temperature.
Step 7

After hardening, leave the FIMO flowers to cool down before sticking with super-glue onto the
grease-free glass or plastic eggs or onto the lantern.

Tips and tricks:

Besonders leicht und dünn lässt sich FIMP soft mit einer Nudelmaschine auswalzen! The flowery
lantern gives off a lovely glow when the flowers are made out of FIMO SOFT transparent colours.
