biometric system to create a credible voter list. This includes registering every eligible citizen by

Project Name: Driving license Registration system

Driving License Registration System (DLRS) is a web-based database driven application that has been
developed to streamline the driving license management function being carried out at thirteen zonal
offices of Department of Transport Management (DOTM). The major purpose of developing DLRS was to
fully automate the driving license record management functions at thirteen zonal offices of DOTM which
was paper-based process prior to implementation of system. The web based system developed for
DOTM has helped to streamline the driving license management functions like issuance of new driving
license to eligible people, renewal of issued driving license, zonal transfer of license, issuance of Nepali
license to foreign license, issuance of duplicate license in case of loss of original one, record
maintenance of penalty payments for rule violation, adding new category in issued license and record
maintenance of revenue paid by the applicant. The user-friendly system has been developed using Java
platform and Oracle RDBMS.
