GENMARK AUTOMATION, Milpitas, Fremont CA 11/2013-5/2016
Sr. Mech Engineer designed and built many systems for semiconductor applications.
• First system was a storage and transfer chamber for 495mm platen. There were three variations of this
system for the various pump down requirements and speeds. Designed and developed full system.
Sales price $.5million
• Second project was a measuring and stocking system for 200 and 300mm wafers. This was built in a
modular fashion so that you could have up to 2 measurement system and 6 carousels. Designed the
carousels all the way to the frames and electronics bays. Sales price $1.2million
• Third project was a Foups stocker which contained 100 Foups in a 2.6 x 2.6 x 2.2 meter cube. This was
the smallest space for containing the amount of Foups. This included the gantry lift structure on top of
the filing system for storage of the Foups.
• Forth project was a IV pump tester. This contained 10 test examples. It tested the lifetime testing of the
entire system including batteries, touchpad, and line blockage.

Sr. Mech Engineer designed and analyzed Degas Load lock chamber for metallization group.
• Created specification for the 2 heaters to be used in the 450mm degas system
• Coordinated with vendors as well as electrical engineers so that the process could be met.
• Created the design with the pump ports as well as gas inlet for the degas system.

Sr. Mech Engineer designed prototyped and built 2 systems for testing manufacturing.
• First design was a tweezer which was nonconductive as well as EMF shielded for testing chips
• Second design was a computer chip feeder for a pill press to produce 50,000 pills per day.

Provided mechanical solutions to global field problems for Rapid Thermal Processing (RTP). Worked on
creation of solutions for global problems within international and interdisciplinary teams. All of the projects
were completed using under budget and under time. Examples include:
• Increased lifetime of the process parameter’s oxygen sensor on the RTP system 8 times, with an
estimated increase in revenue of $10 million.
• Resolved monthly breakages of the quartz window.
• Window breakages resolved through detailed tolerance calculations of quartz window breakages, using
stress calculations, revising the drawings and redesigning the window and it’s holder.
• Used hand calculations to disprove a FEA model that had been used in the design of the initial window.
• Created machinists blue for high temperature (up to 600C) semiconductor applications to determine the
problems of vacuum seals as well as tolerance between quartz and metals under low and intermediate
vacuum conditions.
