Working Title:
Wacky waiting room music
Audience:
My audience will be in the category of young males between the age of 18- 25, this is because
men stereotypically are more interested in comedic styled skits/music videos and when
researching the style of music video similar of similar style and genre that I am doing, I found that
the much larger demographic tended to be males (e.g. crazy bus music 67% Male 33% Female).
The comedy used within the music video will also be silly which I found is more appealing to the
male audience due to females maturing quicker than males. I feel that this helps me as it opens up
the age boundary more so that there are more males that this would appeal to. The Psychographic
results are based on my personal knowledge of political stereotypes as well as gender and age
stereotypes, which leads me to believe that seen as though the majority of the audience who
would go see this video are young males, the audience is very lightly to fall under the following
psychographic: Socially Conscious Type A. Again, this is not necessarily accurate, nor should they
be taken as gospel; however, they should be considered as they can have an impact and help
create a product that is more targeted and therefore more successful.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Throughout the year I have worked on many different projects however I most enjoyed the music
video and print rotation as I found them the most hands on with editing and I feel as though I
learned the most. With the music video rotation, I also found that I hand more choice to what I
could make and that I was able to embed a story into the video to match the lyrics. During the
music video rotation was the first time I ever made a short film where I really needed to plan
everything I wanted to make and develop my ideas. It was the first time I felt like I had full rain to
what I could make and change it to how I specifically wanted, until I had something that was far
superior than what I could have made with limitations. That’s is something that I really want to
experience that feeling again but on a larger scale with more freedom. Video is by far my favourite
project to make and I want to try and push myself in that for this project, however as I am already
very confident within premier pro and don’t think I could dramatically improve over the course of
this project. The only new thing that I will be learning about in this project is with the green screen.
I really wanted to challenge myself and learn new things within this project, this is why I decided to
do a music video as I think I’ll learn a lot of new skills to do with making more professional, as well
as create a product that can push me both my creativity and my skills and ability with both the
equipment as well as the software that I will need to use to assemble it all. I really want to create
something that looks and feels not only professional but real, I want to create something where the
viewer can think that it impressive. I will also create a thumbnail for the video as this would allow
me to firstly, see how all the characters look next to each other so that I can change anything
clothing wise or spacing if needed. I feel that from all the projects I have gone through and studied
this past year I have learned and acquired enough skills that I can build upon to create a product
that will be far superior to anything I have made before.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
In preparation for this project I researched a few different styles and creators who have made
something similar as well as colour schemes and character designs, straight away when I first had
to brainstorm ideas I already had a relatively clear idea of what I wanted to create, however the
rest of the initial plans allowed me to think fully about the idea such ass locations and characters .
The products I researched all had very specific aspects that I liked for example the layout of the
characters so that you can easily see them all. And with the audio so that you can hear a balance
between the characters to create a song. I will use that information and those specific aspects from
the products to influence my final product so that all its technical aspects (e.g. tone and mood,
editing, sound etc.) are as good as they possibly can be and are coherent with the story that I want
to tell. The project that I am going to create is a comedy music video, the concept of the project is
very linear, the rough idea is that we can see the story progress in a real-life scenario in 3 stages.
The first stage is the beginning when we are introduced to the characters, and who they are. This
short window of opportunity will allow the audience to see what kind of character they are. I need
to clearly established location that would be believable for all the character to be in (E.G a waiting

room). During this first stage the character will start to use their items to create a small beat. The
second stage is where the main character in the middle uses his instrument to create the melody
that holds the song together. We need this formation so that the audience can see the progress
that the other character don’t hear the sounds to be a song whereas the main character does. The
3rd turning point gives us more detail to the sounds and a change in tempo and tone. This is when
the characters all get asked a question which stops the music. With this, some of the characters
can change their items to create different sounds. When the music restarts the genre will be
slightly different and will show the audience a clear difference.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I will evaluate my work against existing professional work as well as some of my own existing work
to look at the progress I have made and what I need to do to make my work look more
professional. I will also evaluate it on a weekly basis as well as on a daily basis by reflecting on the
work I did on that day/during that week, this will ensure I have a good idea of what I did each week
and it will give me a good reference point, as well as provide me with a constant idea of what might
need improving or how I need to manage my time so. This process will ensure that my final
product will be far better. I will reflect on peer feedback plus a final self-reflection so I can see what
I thought of the product and what other people thought of it. Finally, I will compare my final product
to my first intentions and my planning and see where it is similar and where it has differed and if
there is differences, I will explore why I did it differently.
