Personal profile
I am an aspiring information technology hardware technician looking to further my career in the
area of computer service, maintenance and repair.
I currently work for Kent Police as an IT service Desk analyst and this has inspired a keen interest
in developing further as an information technology professional. I am now looking to work for an
organisation that will invest in my future development and with whom I can reach my full potential.
As someone with some autistic spectrum disability, I understand the importance maintaining
positive working relationships. I have always been commended for my customer focus and enjoy
using my skills and knowledge to resolve customers IT problems. A positive aspect of this
condition is that I am good at following process and procedures and have an exceptional eye for
detail which has proven a real asset in my chosen field.
I am highly motivated individual that has overcome some challenges to achieve work experience
and educational goals: attaining BTEC level 3 (ICT Professional Competence), as well as being
recognised ‘Student of the year’ by North West Kent College in 2012.
Employment / Work experience
October 2015 – to date – Kent and Essex Police IT Directorate (full time)
I currently work for Kent police as an IT service desk analyst, based at Kent police HQ. I have
gained a wide range of experience, particularly with the systems currently in use by Kent and
Essex police. As first and second line support, I am skilled in remote diagnosis and problem
solving of computer issues, whist providing a high level of customer service. I work well within a
team and have a proven ability to work under pressure.
March 2015 to June 2015 – Kent and Essex Police IT Directorate (work experience)
I undertook work experience within Kent police IT, (as part of an ECDP program assisting disabled
people gain employment). I spent the 6 weeks working with the field operations engineering
team, rolling out windows 7 workstations across Kent Police. In addition, I helped resolve
computer problems that had been referred by the help desk team or via “I-support” which is their
online support portal; these were often priority repairs with demanding deadlines.
Common issues included diagnosing and replacing faulty components, (including desktop / laptop
computers where necessary). Other common problems included printer issues, software failures
and connections to the network. I very much enjoyed working with the field ops team and the
opportunity to engage directly with customers and resolve their IT problems.
