3. Description of my Kitchen Tool – Frying Pan
Kitchen was a born place of our 3 meals, which is
breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also, kitchen has contains a lot of
differences types of kitchen tools, such as knife, plates, bowls,
spoons, folks, kitchen pot, oven, and etc. But have one kitchen
tool was my favorite, that is Frying Pan. Now, throughout this
essay, I will tell you all about this great kitchen tool. Frying pan is
a one important kitchen tools, it can help us cooking, fried, even
can use it as a shield, because frying pans was made by medal.
Before I start descript frying pan, I will bring you guy
back to the past talking about the history of frying pan. In
ancient of Mesopotamia, copper frying pans were appeared at
time. It make from copper metal and iron metal. In ancient of
Greece, they called teganon. Meanwhile, in ancient of Rome,
they were called it Patella or Sartago. Pans derives from the Old
English panna. Before a model frying pan, a commonly used cast
iron cooking pan called a spider. It had a handle and three legs
used to stand up in the coals and ashes of the fire. This
happened at mid-19th century at Europe. Cooking pots and pans
with legless, flat bottoms were designed when cooking stoves
became popular; this period of the late 19th century saw the
introduction of the flat cast iron skillet. This is how our frying
pans come from at that time.
Nowadays, a standard frying pans that we using is
typically 200 to 300mm of the pan’s diameter, and it has a long
handle, and no lid. For the large frying pan, it has a small handle
which is opposite to the main handle, for easy to hand up the
frying pan. Normally, frying pan was make from some materials,
like Aluminum, stainless steel, copper, cast iron, or Clad stainless
steel with an aluminum or copper core. A coating is
4. sometimes applied to the surface of the pan to make it nonstick. We can use the frying pans to fried fish, fried egg, fried
noodle and etc.
Frying pan can be divided into two types: which is Non-stick
frying pan and electric frying pan. Non-stick frying pan is a
process for bonding the Teflon to the chemically-roughen
aluminum was patented in France by Marc Gregoire in 1954. In
1956 he formed a company to the market non-stick cookware
under the "Tefal" brand name. The durability of the early
coatings was poor, but improvements in manufacturing have
made these products a kitchen standard. The surface of the
frying pan is not as tough as the metal and the use of metal
utensils (e.g. spatulas) can permanently mar the coating and
degrade its non-stick property. Non-stick frying pans featuring
teflon coating can stand above about 240 °C (464 °F), a
temperature that easily can be reached in minutes. But if reach
at the higher temperatures, non-stick coatings will be
decompose and give out toxic fumes.
Otherwise, the electric frying pan or electric skillet incorporates
an electric heating element into the frying pan itself and so can
function independently off of a cooking stove. A modern
electric frying pan has an additional advantage, which is it can
heat regulation. Which mean can adjust the temperature of the
frying pan to prevent overcook the food. With the perfection of
the thermostatic control, the electric skillet became a popular
kitchen tools.
I would like to say, frying pan was quite a nice, cheap, save
environment kitchen tool. Frying pans have a lot of function
and secret all waiting us to explore.
