2. • Started as a first chief systems programmer (IIM Ahmedabad) and
worked on India’s first time-sharing operating system
• Founded Infosys in 1981 with a capital of Rs.10,000 and served as a CEO
for 21 years. On 31 March 2015, Infosys had 950 clients across 50
countries.

4. • Indian multinational corporation that provides business consulting,
information technology, software engineering and outsourcing services.
• Infosys had 950 clients across 50 countries.
• It provides software development, maintenance and independent
validation services to companies in banking, finance, insurance,
manufacturing and other domains
• Infosys reported revenue growth of 4.5% sequentially, highest in the last
quarter outperforming TCS with revenue growth of 3.5% both in
domestic as well as international market.
• Infosys market cap is Rs. 2,65,262 cr with P/E ratio of 21.

5. • Born in a family with seven other siblings, it was hard for Mr. Murthy to
pursue his dream and sacrifice prestigious IIT Kanpur to help out his
father.
• His first company Softronics lasted year and a half.
• After 8 of Infosys, the company was about to die and many of the co-
founders were about to quit. It was a big challenge for Murthy to make
them stick to the company.
• Infosys started with no computer, no telephone line, bureaucratic
hurdles and an environment that does not support entrepreneurship.
• Competition from HCL, Cognizant
