Cranes, Greater Flamingo, Black winged Slit,
Rosy Pelican, Common Green Shank, Gadwall,
White Wagtail, Asian Koel and many more.
• The birds migrate from Siberia ,Europe, Africa
and Afghanistan.

5. Siberian Crane
• The Siberian crane also known as
the Siberian white crane or the snow
crane, is a bird of the family Gruidae,
the cranes.
• They are distinctive among the cranes,
adults are nearly all snowy white, except
for their black primary feathers that are
visible in flight and with two breeding
populations in the Arctic tundra of western
and eastern Russia.
• The eastern populations migrate during
winter to China while the western
population winters in Iran and formerly, in
India and Nepal.
• Among the cranes, they make the longest
distance migrations.
6. Black Winged Stilt
Black Winged Stilt is a very long legged
wader bird and become a regular
migrant to India, usually found around
the wetland. The bird has 5 subspecies
named as Black necked stilt,Black
winged stilt ,White backed stilt and
White headed stilt.
The breeding habitat of all these species
of stilts are marshes, shallow lakes and
ponds, Basai Wetland,Pune shallow
lakes and Gujarat water ponds are the
few places to spot Black Winged Stilt.
7. Demoiselle Crane
Demoiselle cranes are migratory birds and spend the winter in the
Indian subcontinent. These cranes are smallest species of crane lives in a
variety of different environments, including desert areas of Rajasthan.
Khichan village of
Rajasthan is known for a
large number of demoiselle
cranes where local people
feed the birds.
Last year 15000 demoiselle
cranes have visited the
village.

Bluethroat is a small brightly
colored passerine bird from
thrush family and winters in
north Africa and the Indian
subcontinent.

of the best place to spot

10. Great White Pelican
The great white pelican also
known as rosy pelican is a large
bird with long beak and a large
throat pouch, distributed in
Eastern Europe, Africa and
Northwest India.
This species migrates to India
during winters in large numbers
and settles down mainly in the
states of Assam, Uttar Pradesh,
Rajasthan and Gujarat.
