14. “Shelf” milk—it is found on the shelf, does not need refrigeration until you open it. It is pasteurized by Ultra High Temperature. Aseptic packaging assures that it is free of bacteria and hermetically seals it (air tight) thus eliminating the bacteria, air and light which will cause milk to sour.
