• Business Case
Michaels Stores Inc., is one of the largest retail chain in United States and
Canada for Arts and Crafts products. Where in TCS is handling Payroll for
Michaels employees starting New Hire to Termination.
Business Value
More production, Accuracy, Associates gets money on time and easy to quality
check.
• Need to stop/void/ Reissue checks one by
one if received more than 1 form
• Able to stop/void/Reissue checks at one
stretch in Wells Fargo and PRO
•Forms are received since the associates
Lost/Stolen/Never received hence the criticality
of the process is HIGH

Administrators receive the forms to stop/void/reissue. If received in
bulk the associate has to go for the repetitive steps to void the
checks one by one and reissue one by one. Previously for a request
it took 25 minutes.
• To improve the cycle time from 25 minutes to 10 minutes per
transaction before March 2014

VOICE OF CUSTOMER
Customer requested to stop/Void bulk check of 20
associates.
In case stopping /Voiding / Reissuing of the checks is not
done there will be a huge pay impact to the associates.

receive in Bulk or even single requests

to get the associate paid on time.

Inference from the Graph: The above graph represents that “Check replacement request forms are
received major pertaining to the Incorrect address. Also upon associates switching on to DD set up
and Pay card set up we can drastically reduce the Check replacement form and the check lost.

weather in USA hence the associates did not received the pay checks.

void the check and reissue one by one

store we can use the option Check sort to Void and
reissue bulk checks at one click

Where in TCS is handling Payroll for Michaels employees starting New Hire to Termination. Business Value More production, Accuracy, Associates gets money on time and easy to quality check. • Need to stop/void/ Reissue checks one by one if received more than 1 form • Able to stop/void/Reissue checks at one stretch in Wells Fargo and PRO •Forms are received since the associates Lost/Stolen/Never received hence the criticality of the process is HIGH 1. Project Charter •IMPACT ON • Client Facing EXPLORE IMPROVE SUSTAINDEFINE Administrators receive the forms to stop/void/reissue. If received in bulk the associate has to go for the repetitive steps to void the checks one by one and reissue one by one. Previously for a request it took 25 minutes. • To improve the cycle time from 25 minutes to 10 minutes per transaction before March 2014

In case stopping /Voiding / Reissuing of the checks is not done there will be a huge pay impact to the associates. 2. VOC to CTQ EXPLORE IMPROVE SUSTAINDEFINE KEY CUSTOMER ISSUE CRITICAL CUSTOMER REQUIREMENT Improving the cycle time to Stop/Void and Reissue if we receive in Bulk or even single requests CRITICAL TO QUALITY In spite of the checks lost/stolen/destroyed we need to get the associate paid on time.

Also upon associates switching on to DD set up and Pay card set up we can drastically reduce the Check replacement form and the check lost.
