28 & 29 August Purple Power Play on Poyntz City Park: Join the K-State Wildcats beginning 6pm with a pep rally to kick off the 2013
Football season! This is a two day event, community-wide and spirit lifting great time. Fun for all! So get out your purple shirts and show
off your Wildcat spirit! All fun activities will begin at 6pm at City Park.
28 August The Fort Riley Commissary is collecting non-perishable food items for the "Feds Feed Families Food Drive". Those wishing to

6 September K-State Volleyball Ft Riley Night: K-State is hosting a Ft Riley Community Night on Sept 6th. Show your support to the Wildcats

7 September Splash –N-Dash 2013 Event Information: The sprint triathlon will include a 500M serpentine swim at Custer Hill Pool,14.2-
mile bike ride circling Fort Riley, and a 4.3-mile run at Custer Hill Golf Course. Awards presentation will follow at Custer Hill Pool. The
race is open to everyone 18 years of age and older! Please note-To receive you t-shirt with your entry packet you must register before the
23rd of August. All registrations after 23 August will be notified when their t-shirts are ready for pick up at KFH. T-shirts must be picked

7 September Ft Riley Library Fall Festival: 1pm -3Pm Bldg 5306 on Hood Dr Behind the Post Office. Caramel apples with embellishments
will be available and apple cider. A drawing will take place for a prize. CG’s Mounted Colored Guard will give a presentation about the
history of the cavalry and will have horses available for children to pet.

11 September A Walk in My Shoes: Army Spouse and Kansas State University Instructor Sandy Risberg contributed to the documentary, A
Walk In My Shoes: Military Life, that tells the story of military life from seven different perspectives. The show premieres on Wednesday,
September 11th at 1:30pm at Forum Hall at the K-State Student Union. The program for the premiere is an hour long and it is free to the

7. HASFR Apple Pie Pre-sales are underway for another year. Apple Day will fall on Saturday October 5th this year, so start planning
now. Pre-sales will be accepted this year from August 15 thru September 27th. Pre ordering your famous Libby Custer Apple Pie has been
a tradition for many years to ensure you are able to reserve your delicious Apple Pie. Pre orders this year are $11.00 thru September 27,
tax included. By pre-ordering your pie not only are you reserving your pie you will also not have to stand in line on Apple Day as we will
have a separate table for you to pick up your pie if you had not already done so. Pies at apple day will be $13.00 frozen and $14.00 baked.
Deadline for ordering is September 27. If ordering by mail, please mail order form and payment before the 24th. For additional

Mark your calendars!!! FALL APPLE DAY FESTIVAL is going to be October 5th from 9am-3pm at the Artillery Parade Field. We have so
much great stuff for you this year we can't fit it all in one Facebook post!! We have the famous Apple Pies for sale, there is going to be a
petting zoo, carnival rides, a mechanical bull. We also have Humvee rides, a blanks weapon firing range. Not to mention food and live
music and historical reenactments. You have to bring the whole family for this HUGE event!! Parking will be at Riley's Conference Center
with a Trolly to shuttle you to the parade field
IACH Updates: Flu Vaccines- Vaccines will be available at the Fall Festival and other venues, but the numbers maybe limited due to budget
cuts. Other ways to get vaccines for family members-they can get vaccinated at other appointments (like a routine checkup, etc) so they do
not need to make an appointment specifically for it.
Tricare UnitedHealth Military & Veterans Services Referrals Updates: is now doing referrals and are fully engaged (during the transition
the local MTF was handling the referrals) If a Family member receives a referral, please wait to receive the referral letter in the mail before
making the appointment. If you make the appointment before getting the letter, it may result in a medical bill that you are not expecting.
*The letter has been reformatted and is much easier to read
*Urgent issues can go to the referral office to get the letter printed
*Routine referrals could take up to 5 days to get in the mail and then the mail delivery time is added to that
*Providers are faxed a copy of the referral and may receive it before the patient
*Referrals for issues that are not chronic are good for 180 days
*Referrals for chronic issues are good for 365 days
