Is there an appetite for risk and innovation or is there a focus on regulation? Is “an agile engineeringculture” exclusive to developers or should it be inclusive of other roles? What is the attitude to learningversus skills development? 1. Are you asking the right questions 4. Flexibility in the work place 2. Fostering the possible Tips include: Define what success looks like. Look intonewmeasures of what success is. Get your team onthesame pagewith regards to accountability andexpectations. Shared goals – Assess if a team can be measuredonthesame KPIs? Showcasesuccess byfailing fast and embrace the learnings. Give quick feedback. Leadership rolemodelingin practice. 3. What is your measurement matrix 5. Managing versus leading Encourage a shift in mindset to “what is possible”. Cultivating a culture that entails “Responsible Experimentation”, allowing people to work in ways that work for them. Encourage collaboration at the right time. Embracing different approaches. Allowing failure as part of the process. Are you allowing for opportunities of growth and learning? Willingness to collaborate at the right time and at the right level. Do you see yourself as a “craftsman”? How flexible are you in giving your team members the freedom to work in the way that works for them? Company culture to embrace “Responsible Experimentation”. Ask what does “free to fail” look like? Tips include: Increase in empathy in leadership. Recognise and encourage leadership capabilities in others. Passion / cause alignment: Set a vision for others to follow. 1st lead in your own space. Different types of leadership roles in terms of knowledge and skills. Alignment on values is critical based on the same value system and set of principles. Allowance for embracing creativity and not being limited by the spec from the beginning of the process.
