The cabinet has approved the expansion of PM Awas Yojana (Urban) till March 2024. With this decision, people will continue to get housing benefits and subsidies under the scheme. So far, 122.69 lakh houses have been approved for eligible people across the country, with 61.77 lakh houses completed. Who can take advantage of this scheme?
Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PM Awas Yojana), any person earning less
than 3 lakhs, who does not have any house, can take advantage of it. In this
scheme, assistance of 2.50 lakh is given by the government. In this money is given
in 3 installments. First installment of 50 thousand. Second installment of 1.50
lakhs. Whereas, the third installment is given for 50 thousand. The state government
gives 1 lakh out of a total of 2.50 lakh rupees. At the same time, the central
government gives a grant of 1.50 lakhs

about to end in 2022, but the cabinet has extended the scheme for 2 more years to benefit the

122.69 lakh houses allotted

level under the scheme. So far Rs 1,20,130 crore has been released for the scheme.
