Having a fascination with language and its transmission I developed an interest in editing and proofreading; I blame my love for learning dead languages, Old Norse in particular, and their never ending need to have the last word...After spending a year learning the meticulous process of transliterating Viking-Age runic inscriptions into modern English, writing a dissertation on the subject and spending months editing it, I found that I actually enjoyed the editing process. As such I am looking to expand my professional horizons and have my sight set on the world of publishing in the form of Copyediting (there's wasn't a large-enough demand for Runologists).
