This slideshow begins with a basic overview of ANZAC
Day suited to young students followed by a section for
Year 4 students and above based upon the song,
Only Nineteen, by the Australian folk group, Redgum.
Please preview all material to ensure it is appropriate for
your students. The video that accompanies the song is the
RAGE version which is more appropriate for primary
students than the original Redgum clip.

11. Soldiers in warfare face extreme hardship. John
Schumann from the Australian band, Redgum, wrote a
song called "Only Nineteen" about the experiences of a
young soldier in active combat in the Vietnam War.
