Arabic language in
the UAE

2. Introduction The Arabic language
is witnessing immense
deterioration in the
Middle East, Arab kids
are growing up not
knowing their mother
tongue.

3. What causes
the Arabic
language to
decline?

4. GLOBALIZATION
Because of the over-
invasion of Western culture
and globalization in the Arab
world, the language has
been abandoned and
replaced by English.

5. SOCIAL MEDIA
People began to use new
forms and styles of
communication, such as slang
and non-Standard Arabic, i.e.,
using their own dialects, when
communicating due to social
media.

6. ISSUES IN THE
EDUCATIONAL
SECTORS
The teaching of Arabic
subjects in institutions is
hampered by a lack of
qualified and trained
teachers as well as the
necessary resources.

7. ROLE OF THE UAE IN
PROMOTING ARABIC
UAE has led efforts to protect
the Arabic language through a
comprehensive strategy
managed by relevant
authorities, and various
educational and cultural
foundations.
