How to determine network interface used in snapvault transfer
1. How to determine Network Interface(s) being used in the
SnapVault transfers for NetApp 7-mode.
1. Login to Destination/Secondary Vault filer:
2. Run the command:
Snapvault status = will show all the existing vault relationships
Snapvault status -l = will show all the existing vault relationships in detail
Snapvault status -l /vol/path/to/the/vault_vol = will give details for the specific relationship;
this is handy if you do not want to get confused with too many vaults having similar names.
Make a note of the 'Progress:' , this will tell you how much data is processed and transferred so far,
in the above example, it has transferred 180GB approximately and status indicates it’s still
Transferring.
3. 'netstat -anMB' is the key command in determining the network interface [PAIR] that is being
used for the snapvault transfers.
Looking at the Rcvd [Received: 181G] data: We can easily identify the Source & Destination sockets;
IP and Ports numbers. Please note, the data mentioned in the Rcvd will always be higher than the
‘Data’ shown in the SnapVulat ‘Progess:’ value, it doesn’t have to be accurate but as long as it’s
close-by you can ascertain which PIPES being used.
