CommVault v10-SP14 enables browse functionality for Clustered Ontap NetApp
1. How to enable NDMP extensions in order to allow CommVault v10-SP14 update to browse
Clustered Ontap NetApp Filer.
As we know prior to SP14, browse functionality wasn't available for Clustered Ontap NetApp Filer.
Now, SP14 provides this functionality, however there are two steps that needs to be performed after
installing the SP14 update to make this functionality work.
Please note: Step 1 alone will not enable this functionality, both the steps are required.
Step 1: Enable NDMP extensions on the cDOT NAS side.
Step 2: Re-detect to perform the NDMP authentication on the CommVault side.
Step 1: on the NAS side, you can provide this information to customer and let them do it, or have
them contact NetApp to get the first step done. However, this is a very safe command to carry out in
any case.
This command is available to cluster administrators at the advanced privilege level.
CDOT832::> set -privilege advanced
CDOT832::*> vserver services ndmp extensions show
Is Extension 0x2050 Enabled: false
CDOT832::*> vserver services ndmp extensions modify -is-extension-0x2050-enabled true
CDOT832::*> vserver services ndmp extensions show
Is Extension 0x2050 Enabled: true
CDOT832::*>
2. Step 2: On the CommVault side, once the NDMP extensions are enabled, please follow the steps
below to re-detect and perform NDMP authentication.
3. Once above steps are done, one should be able to browse the cDOT as shown in the figure below
