Why Solar Energy, Energy Efficiency
and China are the keys for the
competitiveness of Chilean mining?
The real voyage of discovery consists, not in seeking new
landscapes, but in having new eyes. MARCEL PROUST
The wise integration of solar energy and energy efficiency to reduce costs
significantly and financial partnerships with customers in China increases the
profitability of export competitiveness by supporting the Small, Medium or Large
Scale Mining of Chile, both in the short and the medium and long terms.
Between 2001 and 2011 the energy consumption of the mining industry
increased by 59%, while copper production only 11% and electricity prices by
more than 200%. Mainly because Chile is a country without fossil solar energy
reserves (coal, oil and gas) and the reduction of copper mining laws, which fell
from 1.27% to 0.86% in the same period. In 10 years, mineral resources
extracted from Chile declined by 48% copper content. If we add the liquidity
shortage, high credit costs and higher transport costs, then, this market is facing
a perfect storm. However, we believe in PROSPEROUS and SHINY FUTURE for
Chilean mining. We discover new PRACTICAL, USEFUL, DIDACTICS AND
FEASIBLE formulas to proceed with NCRE, energy efficiency and to discover
how China is the best ally to navigate these troubled waters.
