2. Goals are visions or ideas that you wish to become reality. They are things
that you would like to do for yourself, your friends, your children, your marriage,
or your community. Goals are directions and plans. Goals are big and small
success stories.
Goals get you motivated to make it happen. They can be long or short term, they
can be as simple as planning a vacation, a birthday party, buying a car, or passing
all of your classes, it depends on you.
Setting goals helps you to make a commitment to yourself; it’s a symbol of
structure, motivation, and direction in your life.
Setting goals is not always as easy as we would like to think. You have to be very
clear on what you want.
But before you have a goal you have an idea. Someone had the thought that he
was tired of sitting on the floor and as that thought grew, the invention of the
chair came about. There was a vision, a goal, a plan and an outcome.
Goals can be complicated. You have to decide whether you’re willing to
invest the time, energy, money, or whatever’s necessary to make this goal your
reality. So before you rush off into writing down a bunch of goals think about it
seriously.

Developing a plan of action:
The great thing about having a goal, is that only you can see it
in its completed form.
● Now that you are ready to get started with your goals:
1. How much thought have you put into it ?
2. Are serious about it ?
● Get a notebook, write out each goal that you would like to complete

b) Do your research.
c) Write out your steps.
d) Put a timeframe next to each step. This will help you to
stay on task and to focus.
e) Do something twice or three times per week toward your
goal. It can be something as small as making a phone call.
Just make sure you do something.

Always give yourself a date of completion
Always write down every step in the correct order.
● If you’re a person who has never developed goals, time frames, or check
lists, your natural instinct would probably be to quit and then start again.
This will happen because you’re doing something new. When this happens
you must keep reminding yourself of your endgame. Don’t beat yourself
up, just get right back on track. Remind yourself of why you want to
achieve this goal.
● Keep a copy of your goals with you at all times.
9. ● Set reminders on your calendars, computers, tablets etc.
● If you want to really achieve these goals, you have to do the work.
● Stick a reminder on your mirror or your refrigerator.
● REMEMBER: Think about the end result.
● Don’t concentrate on the details themselves, concentrate on the reasons
for the details.
● All of this is only impossible if you keep jumping on and off of the fence.
Decide that you are going to stick to it and keep pushing forward.
