The musical scale used in different traditional folk music of East Asian
countries is based on the five–tone or Pentatonic scale.
Sakura is the traditional Japanese folk song depicting spring, the
season of cherry blossom. This song has Duple meter which receives
four beats per measure.
Mo Li Hua is a Chinese folk song. The song describes a custom of
giving jasmine flowers, and it uses Nasal vocal style of singing.
The traditional music of Korea represents the soul and sound of
traditional Korean villages with an eclectic array of music forms.
East Asian traditional music is quite different from Western vocal
music, and it is focused on the intervals of human breathing, how
musicians show their spiritual self-mastery in mastering their music,
and how they give value to their performance and composure.
Form is a musical element referring to the structure of a musical
composition used in different East Asian music.
Odaiko, Taiko and Tsuzumi are Japanese musical instruments that are
classified as Membranophone.
Zheng is an ancient Chinese instrument that has an arched surface
and an elongated-trapezoid with 13 to 21 strings stretched over
individual bridges.
Some examples of East Asian Wind instruments are: Sho,
Ryuteki, Nokan, and Hichiriki.
Chordophones are musical instruments that produce sound
from vibrating strings when the performer plays or sounds the
strings in some manner. Musicians play some string
instruments by plucking the strings with their fingers or a
plectrum.
Pipa is a four-stringed lute with 30 frets and a pear-shaped
body. This instrument has an extremely wide dynamic range
and remarkable expressive power.
