Activities: Telephone survey consisting of 4,200 interviews examining the health behavior,
habits, and attitudes of residents in five southern Indiana counties and nearby

telephone sample sampling strategy featuring a household level, modified random
respondent selection process.

1. Psychometrician, Development assistant for the Kent State University gender center and the first annual
gender center survey under the Directorship of Molly Merriman.
2. Faculty Advisor, Developing our Departments Education Abroad Program. This year, our first group
traveled eight days to London. Next year, we are developing the Summer Institute in Florence Italy Kent
Campus.
3. Co-Principal Investigator, Gender and Sexuality Research Institute. We are developing this institute to
study and conduct qualitative and quantitative research on topics related to gender and sexuality. We
plan to employ graduate students to assist us with our Institute.
4. Co-Principal Investigator, Flashpoll Institute for polling of Kent State University students, faculty, and
staff opinions on current topics.
5. Co-Principal Investigator, Endowment to Establish the Institute for the Advancement of the
Humanities. National Endowment for the Humanities. This project is a Challenge Grant to establish
an endowment for an Institute for the Advancement of the Humanities (Amount: $500,000 [Funded,
