Boston Public Schools—Greater Egleston High School, Roxbury, MA (2006 – 2008)
History & Government Teacher
Greater Egleston Community High School is a small urban pilot school within the Boston public schools network. The student
population is ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse. Taught four classes for which I independently designed curricula:
U.S. History, World History, Government & Economics, and Historical Literature.
Teacher & Site Director, Credit Recovery Program
Taught and co-administrated a summer program designed to help lagging and lapsed students make up missing coursework and
earn their high school diplomas. Teaching responsibilities included coverage of not only history and social studies, but math,
ELA and science curricula as well. Administrative responsibilities included intake of students, management of academic
pathways, coordination with college and financial aid counselors, and collaboration with District officials. Conducted basic data
tracking and research to determine effectiveness of the program in its pilot year. Since its inception, this program has grown to
include hundreds of students across the District.
