2. Actinobacteria
 The Actinobacteria are a phylum of Gram-positive
bacteria.
 They can be terrestrial or aquatic.
 They are of great economic importance to humans.
 In soil, they behave much like fungi.
 Some soil actinobacteria symbiosis with plants.

3. Nature of Cell
 Gram Positive prokaryotic bacteria.
 It consist branched filamentous hyphae having
resemblance with fungal hyphae.
 It reproduce asexually by spore formation.
 They are saprophytic and chemoorganotrophic in
nature.
 They are free living and found in both land and
water.
 They shows symbiotic relationship with plants.

4. Cell Structure
 Thick peptidoglycan layer present in the cell wall.
 Actinobacteria have high guanine (G) plus cytosine (C)
(G+C) DNA base content in their genome.
 The cell is able to change its shape.
 Chromosome is organized in prokaryotic nucleoid.
 Some have mycolic acid in their cell wall.
