Vision
The Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Government College (ZSPGC) is envisaged to be a leading institution of higher learning in the Province, continually pursuing excellence in the formation of
globally- competitive local professionals and technologists who are dedicated and committed to uplift the quality of life among all Zambosurians.
Mission
The ZSPGC shall endeavor to provide quality higher Professionals, Technical and Special instructions in various academic fields and discipline, all geared towards enhancing the level of global
competitiveness among its graduates, especially in the area of applied research, extension and community services teaching and proactive educational leadership, guided by values anchored on
integrity and firm morals needed in sustaining a strong Philippine Republic.
Philosophy
The ZDSPGC believes that higher learning liberates one from the clutches of poverty while fostering respect for the environment and humanity through activism that promotes positive change.
Goal
The ZSPGC aims in reducing poverty through college education while fostering environmental awareness to alleviate climate change and respect for humanity through activism that promotes
positive change.
Objectives
To realize its Vision, accomplish its Mission, and attain its Goal, the college endeavors to:
 Help Zambosurians to obtain quality yet affordable academic degrees on relevant programs and field of studies;
 Conduct highly relevant research that addresses current problems and issues besetting the society and the environment.
 Collaborate with various stakeholders from both government and private sectors in pursuit of social and economic community development.
 Mitigate the effects of climate change by promoting organic agriculture.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
COURSE CODE : PE309
COURSE TITLE : DRUG EDUCATION, CONSUMER HEALTH EDUCATION AND HEALTHY EATING
UNIT CREDIT : 3 Units
PREREQUISITE :
CO- REQUISITE : (if there is any) : None
Course Description :
This course was prepared primarily to expose students to the fundamental concept of drug education, consumer health and healthy eating. Students will be trained on how to
analyze and appreciate the history of drug use and drug legislation. Likewise, it prepares the students for facts and concepts on dealing with products for consumption and
nutritional needs with the aim of reducing chronic disease and other ailments. Provide education for the use and abuse of drugs and throws light on proper application of
immediate care to victims due to accidents, preparedness during natural disaster and management. This course also prepares the students for facts and concepts on dealing with
products for consumption and nutritional needs in the promotion of reducing chronic disease risk and other healthful tips. Students will be taught on how to deals with theories
and concepts of school health services, instruction and school-community coordination. The course provides opportunities for students to apply knowledge and skills of discipline
to educate the community through healthy lifestyle.
Course Objective: After completing this course, STUDENTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO:
1. Determine the fundamental concept of drug education, consumer health and healthy eating. 2 Evaluate the history of drugs, use and drug legislation.
2. Identify the drug prevention and drug treatment.
3. Differentiate the effects of stimulant drugs and depressant drugs.
4. Acknowledge and value drug laws and law enforcement.
5. Design and evaluate consumer health information.
6. Discuss the consumer rights and responsibilities in the selection and purchase of health-related products and services.
8 .Analyze the role of advertising approaches and quackery in the consumer purchases.
9. Identify the regulation and responsibility of consumer, manufacturer, society and policy maker.
10. Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to carry on a stimulating and fruitful program of health education.
11. Apply principles and skills in planning, carrying out and evaluating health teaching.
12.Classify the health education literacy and the principles underlying health.
13.Recognize the carriers of contagious disease and the common deficiency disease.
14.Apply active lifestyle thru fitness activity and healthy living.
