• Support the Business in delivering effective Assurance reviews and regular testing of Key
Controls working individually/small Teams – review individual Business Managers, Support
Teams and processes
• Responsibility for Sarbanes - Oxley (SOx) Controls Adequacy Reviews and Effectiveness Testing
for Business Banking UK - 2016 for submission to the Bank’s Auditors
• Control Review highlights - Event Driven Reviews. Review of Controls preventing previously
exited Customers Re - banking with the Group. Both involved working closely with the AML Team
in Business Banking
• Personal responsibility for completion of Business Self Assurance (BSA) Testing for the Business
areas allocated, including presenting results face to face to the individual Test subjects and their
Line Management. Met defined timescales and drove consistency standards
• Built strong and lasting relationships with, and coach Business staff in relation to Credit
Stewardship, Regulatory and Operating processes
• Concieved, created and delivered an internal training plan to upskill the UK Business Banking
Assurance Team on our new Outcome Based Testing model
• Worked closely and credibly with Senior Management across the Business, and other key
stakeholders in AML, CEU, Second Line of Defence (CQA), and the UK Business Risk Manager

Achievements
• Led a review of a Key Problem Account Identification control – concluding as ineffective. Oversaw
changes to the process and also highlighted weaknesses in the effectiveness of a connected
Credit Stewardship process
• Exposed a series of dysfunctional Credit Stewardship behaviours in 2015 BSA Testing which
were escalated to Senior Line Management for further action. Concerns with account activity
prompted an IMLSR for a related customer connection. I took personal responsibility to escalate,
and a report was subsequently made to the National Crime Agency
2. July 2013 – September 2014 NatWest Business Banking, North
Business Assurance Manager (BAM), Yorkshire and North Derbyshire Regional Team
• Key driver of the Region’s Risk Agenda. Reported to the Regional Director/Regional Leadership
Team providing advice on all aspects of Self Assurance, Operational and Regulatory Risk, and
undertaking related Staff training and coaching
• Planning and executing the Region’s BSA Testing schedule. Robustly and consistently testing the
required samples to meet clear deadlines. Led the North Territory BAM Team ensuring a
consistent approach across the Regions
• Provided accurate briefing and relevant analyses from a broad range of data to the Regional
Director for monthly RMD Territory Risk Board. Undertook follow up actions and presented a Risk
Report to the Leadership Team at monthly Regional Board meetings
• Personal Responsibility for the management and continuous improvement of the Risk Dashboard.
Drove outstanding performance against key metrics, including reducing Overdue Overdrafts,
Excess Appeals, Days Past Due, Loans Expired/Out of Line and Dormant Overdraft Renewal
numbers. Influencing and winning support from the RM/BS/BMs was key to achieving this level of
progress
• Second Checker for the Small Business Lending Affordability Calculator process for Northern
England and Scotland in Q4 2013
Achievements
• Led a significant improvement across the Regional Risk Dashboard leaving lasting awareness of
the importance of good Risk Management. Yorkshire and North Derbyshire Region were ‘Best in
Class for Risk’ in the North Territory

Achievements
• Identified declining standards of KYB (Know Your Business) completion and on own initiative, led
a Training Plan to improve performance across the Region. Improvement apparent in the
