- Formed in 2001 as a national registration body, operating under the federated state based associations. Became the National Health and Fitness Industry Association in 2008. Fitness Australia is governed by an independent board, which is two thirds elected and represents a diverse range of industry interests.

We encourage you to promote the fact you are registered on business cards, profile boards, websites, etc. Need to clarify the issue of using professional branding. Each entry on the Register of Exercise Professionals lists the following: your registration number, registration expiry, CPR and First Aid expiry date, as well as your list of professional competencies. Briefly discuss the levels of registration
- Professional Registration is not a membership; it is a professional credential. It is only open to people who have completed a recognised industry qualification, are maintaining current CPR and First Aid certificates and importantly are completing an ongoing learning requirement. Any professional industry, whether health related or otherwise typically require registration with the recognised industry body. Fitness Australia fills that role in the Australian fitness industry. Furthermore registration maintains currency of competency, which is critical in terms of recognising that your qualification remains recognised into the future.

- Guild insurance is the insurer – not Fitness Australia. Importantly you do not have to insure with Guild, however the Guild package has been developed in conjunction with Fitness Australia, specifically for the Australian Health and Fitness Industry to deliver the best possible value and protection for registrants. Also, you will not find a cheaper package than that offered by Guild. The basic $10 million and $5 million package can be increased and this is something being requested by a number of local councils in regards to outdoor training in public areas.
- How to access your online portal and update details. Navigate through the CEC Directory – search by topic, by state or by application. Highlight also the CEC guidelines on receiving CEC’s for on the job training. Mention also the auditing procedures. CEC Diary – how to update details - if it ever works Resource library – highlight the different sections – how to download Reps magazine, registration upgrade forms, etc. Quick look through the industry directory – use the example of someone in the tutorial. Take a quick look through the consumer site. – why we created this site and what we hope to do with it.
- Go to the Groupsite and set up a fresh user profile – from one of the participants. Highlight the discussions area, as well as the filing cabinet. This site is an opportunity for individual EP’s, business owners, training providers, etc. to engage with the wider industry across Australia.
