Hi. I’m Andy Gluck from Advisors4Advisors. This presentation shows you an effective way to create and deliver a presentation for a webinar or blog post. You’ll learn how you can deliver a presentation where your audience views your primary monitor while you read prepared notes or a script off a second monitor.
This first thing you want to do is add your notes, or just write out a script. The red arrow indicates the pane in PowerPoinjt for entering your notes. It’s good to keep sentences in your script short.Sometimes use four words. Then, give readers a much longer, winding, and complex sentence, adding commas and clauses — and the occasional parenthetical statement set off by an em-dash. Varying sentence length adds drama, and short sentences are always better.Once you’ve added your notes or script, you’re ready for delivering your presentation.
One of the really confusing things about using Presenter View is that the switch to turn on Presenter is NOT on the View ribbon or menu in PowerPoint. That would be too simpleThe checkbox that turns on Presenter View is actually under the SlideShow ribbon.
Now, go into “Slide Show” view. By checking off the Presenter View before going into Slide Show mode, you can now see your notes in a second monitor while your audience sees your slides in another monitor. If you write detailed notes or a full blown script, you can sound like a polished speaker.Making a presentation this way – especially if it is for a blog post – is much better than speaking extemporaneously.
It’s also better than making your slides your notes. We all have see presentations where the speaker reads his slides. It’s boring! If the reader is just going to read the slides without adding color and insight, he might as well just hand out the slides and do a computer narration (which some of the slideshow apps – like Brainshark – will do for you.) Giving viewers a slide to look at while you say something about the slide is entertaining.
Now you can choose fun images that illustrate your ideas instead of filling your slides with your notes.Your presentations can be filled with eye candy that makes your ideas more memorable and your presentation more effective.
